Thank you, Robert. I don't have a dog but I love them ❤️ and my bed is on the back seat but I have easy access to the front seat. Thank you so much for sharing these tips 🤗
I agree a little dog is the best companion and alarm. Generally a dog’s bark will not only alert you but will scare off the creepers. I took a solo trip to visit my brother once from Southern California to Montana. I had my little five pound chihuahua with me. I slept at rest stops. If anybody got too close to my car she would bark her head off! Chihuahuas are known to be little happy barkers 😂. Plus a little dog fits best in your small space, doesn’t cost as much to feed and don’t take up so much of the covers
Yes to all but the dog. I love van/car life for people but it’s really not fair to put an animal or child through the cramped and ever changing scenarios of that lifestyle if it’s not necessary (ie: if you didn’t already have the pet). It can be really stressful to them, leaving them in the car in harsh weather and for lengths of time is not ideal or outright dangerous and in general, it’s just nice for them to have more room to roam about than the confines of a car. Not to mention all the cost that comes with caring for them properly. Protect yourself but not at the expense of a less than ideal situation for a pet❤
I like Emi too She lived in her car … worked n saved her money to buy a plain van And got a high top put on it Simple no frills van But after quite a bit of time , she has many upgrades
My suggestion would be to get a Hot Logic Mini with a 12V plug. You can cook many things and reheat food while driving and not have to use your Jackery (depending on how much you drive). It does take awhile to heat things, kind of like a slow cooker. If you plan ahead, you can maybe thaw the food a bit (safely) to speed the heating. Heat in a small glass container or a microwaveable safe plastic container with a lid. Some people also use the hot plate with aluminum foil to try an heat things not to get steamed one soggy and unzip the lid a bit. Check out videos on here for ideas and suggestion of different foods or tips. It also comes in another version with a plug and only uses 40 watts of power.
Heating pads are the best to beat the winter cold. It uses next to no power and it warms your body and helps with aches and pain. I have saved a ton on heating cost by heating my body rather than trying to heat the whole room. I bought one that is a full body heating pad that extends from the neck down to the waist. It is a game changer. I am rooting for you and sending you love and positive vibes.
Another youtuber I follow is Just Rowan. She too went through some difficult times and is now living in her car, traveling and working as she goes. She started in a small car and is now in a bigger SUV and has a lot of really good idea.
@@magaligadea Hi Magali. Please ignore rude people, don't let their harsh remarks hurt you. You are hurt enough. I went through a terrible time too, and lost everything. I suffered grief and abuse by my ex partner. I left my country with my suitcase and laptop. That's all I had. I now live in a foreign country, so I know what it means to struggle and try to heal and find my feet. All these things take time. The lady at the Just Rowan TH-cam channel also had deep personal struggles. It is not all laughs and giggles. It is surprising how many things can run on batteries. I have a fan that will run for hours on plain ol' batteries. They make heated throws, heated vests, and it is worth doing a few explorations of battery operated items. Rather than trying to actually cook in your car, explore those foods that only need heating up. Even raw vegetables are fine just heated, so you're not eating cold food on a cold day. A candle is a great way to heat food, and I can imagine that with the proper container, placing it on your engine when hot would also work. You could prop the hood open just enough to give it space. Also, look into how to do a passive cooker. That is heating something to boiling, and placing it in a thick pot that is surrounded by pillows, blankets, clothes to keep the heat in, extending cooking time. They are called hay boxes, because back in the day they had to use hay, I guess. Beyond bringing it to a boil, there is no further need for a heat source. Well-insulated thermoses can do this, too, and keep it warm for the next meal. Candles will cook, too, but be careful in a car with that. Look into keeping a few small bricks in the car to make a rocket stove within minutes. YT has videos, but they use cinderblocks. You can use smaller bricks. Subscribed.

K, You can do this, There is an art to it. It takes time to learn what works and what dose not. I park at wallmart alot in northern michigan. I have a part time job and that helps a lot not only with the finances but also gives me a sense of place. For me that is important. I have an old 95 chrysler town and country with the stow and go seats removed for storage space....that I live in and I feel that it is absolutely the best for this lifestyle. This is a wonderful way to live once you get it right......There is a lot of freedom that comes with living in a vehicle. That is why I love it so much . As for cooking in your car. It may be helpful for you to get a small cooker or even something like a rice cooker to put in your car. That is a 12 volt. You can plug it to your Jackie or you can plug it into your car. You can make soup or chili and other things using something like that. They also have food warmers. When stealth cooking. Living in your car. I went to coffee shops, with my own cups (2) and most places will give you free hot water for instant coffee, or I have a Dutch coffee strainer you pour hot water over the top to make real coffee. Now if you go to the grocery store there are a lot of items that you can make with hot water. ie. Oatmeal, mashed potatoes "etc" because 1 coffee a day from 7-11 will cost you $90 a month and that if you only drink one cup a day.😊
Yes, buying coffee every day is not feasible for me. Once in a while no problem, but can't every day. Thank you for sharing your experience with me. Every little tip helps. 🤗
some McDonalds restaurants have power points in the seating areas. Go have a long coffee and charge your power bank that way if it's available to you where you are. Also some charities and churches etc would allow you to charge surely :) Hello from Australia
I started following these channels because I too was living in my car. I have my own apartment now. It could be worse. Be grateful for all the little things and do your best.
hang in there I was homeless 4 yrs ago slept in my explorer for a year fast forward gonna be homeless again by February but gonna do it different cutting down on what I take, biggest thing IMOP, like you will make my floor level by using moving blankets from harbor freight, a cheap power invertor just for cooking small meals making my black out curtains now had regular curtains but made the back seam to small and yes you'll save money, budget shop cannot stress this enough! will be heading to Florida and yes will stay at free camp sites, hospitals, hotel parking lots excreta will keep in touch YOU CAN DO THIS!!
I like parking in hotel parking lots ( I've worked in hotels my whole life, and the last thing employees at hotels are worried about, is if someone is sleeping in their car). Hospital, or Emergency Room parking lots are also good. Apartment complexes that don't have assigned parking, or street parking next to an apartment complex. I'm not sure if you have Wal-Mart's and Cracker Barrels in Canada, those are other good options. Restaurants or gas stations that are open 24 hours are good. If I'm in a bind, I'll park overnight at a garage that fixes cars. (Just leave before they open). Also remember, anyplace you can legally park, is a good place to overnight. Because even if sleeping in your car is illegal, if you have proper window coverings, they won't know for certain if your in there. If I'm parked somewhere legal, I never answer a knock. Of course I'm very quiet, and there's no way for them to know I'm in my vehicle.

Thrift stores for items needed can help. I will follow you. When I saw you driving through that snow I was full of anxiety. Never learned snow driving so I was worried for you. Wool blankets are the best. Cotton not good. It absorbs the cold and becomes wet. Good luck. Be safe.
🤗🤗🤗 My first time driving through snow was through a snow storm towards Vancouver. I just think I need good tires and slowdown because the road conditions are not the best, and lastly, watch for other drivers. Thank you so much for caring for me, and for the tips!! ❤️❤️❤️
Assalamua'laikum Magali! I'm from Malaysia 🇲🇾 and I'm glad I found your YT account. I look forward to have a campervan though I still want to be homebased. Look forward to watching more of your videos!
How about going to second hand stores to get pillows and blankets? They also may have other items you need for car camping. There is nothing wrong with eating sandwiches as often as necessary. Drink lots of water as well. Why are you living in your car?
I didn't think about that... Thank you for the tip 😊 I finally got my own blanket and pillows. It makes a difference. Oh? I'm sorry, I meant I can't buy sandwiches every day because I'm on a budget. It's cheaper for me to make them myself. I didn't drink enough water. I was so stressed trying to figure out how to make food 😊 Thank you so much for your help 🤗🤗 PS: I'll share the reasons for my new lifestyle soon 🤗
Thank you for the tip 😊 I have both a stove and a jetboil but the rain was strong and I was unable to stand on the side of the car to cook on the backseat, and my bed was getting wet as well 😔 thank you again 🤗
Get a small 1 burner propane or butane stove Go to thrift shops get a small pot and a big cutting board or cookie sheet, use for cooking area to protect bed

@@magaligadea I have been in isolation during this time. God was breaking me down and rebuilding me in his image. Five years lol I am in school of ministry now and working on becoming a pastor. Waiting on his timing has been difficult to say the least lol. I saw your eyes and I could feel your fear. I am praying for you 🙏
Thank you so much. Yes, one characteristic of mine is being transparent. I can't fake my emotions and to be honest I don't think I should or else I'd lose myself in someone I wouldn't recognize. Being truthful to myself and to my values is what has kept me sane.

Hi Erica! Yes, I have both the cigarette lighter plug as well as the wall charger but it doesn't charge enough because I am not driving too much in the city. I just had another thought, I don't know how old you are, but the over 50's clubs in Coquitlam used to do warm nutritious means for really cheap at lunch time, for a hot meal that is cost efficient.... joining an over 50s club would give you somewhere warm and dry to go as well during the day... I don't even think you have to be 50 to join.
I'm not in my fifties yet ☺️ but I wouldn't mind joining. However, I'm trying to stay away from metro Vancouver. It's too humid. Thank you for this information though ❤️
Go to Starbucks and bring your laptop and charge your Jakery while you’re doing stuff on the computer. Also charge while you’re showering. Never let it go dead, so it’s maintenance charges, if you can help it. Get a JetBoil and Coleman Stove.
Blessings Magali , I wish you safety , happiness and good health . Camping hand inflatable Exped down mattress under your sleeping bag is incredibly warm . I’ve used mine for 7 years . Good investment and reduces condensation under your sleeping set up . 🙏🥰
Thank you for your kind wishes. I looked into the Exped mattresses but I couldn't get one because it wouldn't fit the back seat of Elantra. Maybe when I get a bigger vehicle ☺️ blessings to you too ☺️🙏
Doesn't your Jackery have a DC charging cable/plug that lets you charge up your Jackery with your car? I can charge my power supply through my car 12 volt car outlet. ( cigarette lighter jack).
I dont live out of a vehicle but I do a lot of jeep camping.

Thank you for all the tips!! 🤗
Im excited for your journey. You got this mashalla ❤🙏
Lhamdolillah ❤️ thank you so much!!

Thank you 🙏 I got my pillows back 🤗🤗🤗

One of the absolute best channels about car life because of the music ... love it!
Hi Magalli, it's Jason from Lillooet. You always have a place to crash when you are in the area👍
Awww Jason!!! So happy to hear from you! Thank you so much!!! You're so kind. I will definitely consider your offer when I'm around 🤗
You could have roof racks fitted and fit a roll out awning.
I do. I have a cargo box and an awning ☺️

Greetings to you from Northern Ireland 🇬🇧 stay safe...
Thank you so much, Colin!! 🤗
Hiya! I've been working on my car to get out there again. Still working on solar . Nice to see you here.✌️
Thank you! All the best!!

That's a great idea. Thank you for joining me ☺️
I wish you the best on your journey🥰❤️
Thank you so much Emma ❤️🥰🤗
How about going to second hand stores to get pillows and blankets? They also may have other items you need for car camping.
There is nothing wrong with eating sandwiches as often as necessary. Drink lots of water as well.
Why are you living in your car?
I didn't think about that... Thank you for the tip 😊 I finally got my own blanket and pillows. It makes a difference.
Oh? I'm sorry, I meant I can't buy sandwiches every day because I'm on a budget. It's cheaper for me to make them myself.
I didn't drink enough water. I was so stressed trying to figure out how to make food 😊
Thank you so much for your help 🤗🤗
PS: I'll share the reasons for my new lifestyle soon 🤗
Try a 12vdc stinger to heat water in your cup or pot.
Thank you for the tip 😊 I have both a stove and a jetboil but the rain was strong and I was unable to stand on the side of the car to cook on the backseat, and my bed was getting wet as well 😔 thank you again 🤗
Sending our best! ❤
Thank you so, so much ❤️
Get a small 1 burner propane or butane stove
Go to thrift shops get a small pot and a big cutting board or cookie sheet, use for cooking area to protect bed
I have everything in my cargo box. Thank you so much for your help 🤗🤗🤗
Just make sure you allow for some air to flow in & out from a small window gap opening if using gas to cooking or heating.
You better find warmer climates if you are staying in the car. It looks cold there
I just started watching these van life videos and so far I've got you all beat. I've been living in my van for 11 years now and my Nissan for 6 years before the van. I never leave Huntington Beach California.
Happy for you. California has beautiful weather 😌
@@magaligadea yes it does. I hope you come this way one day and your travels
I'm in my van right now having a roast beef sandwich
like your taste in music...opening song was nice....blessings
Thank you!!! I love it too. Blessings to you too 🤗
Hey. Jackery can be charged from car as well but it takes long time. Also there are tiny gas heaters as well.
Exactly. That's why I was trying to save power. I was afraid of getting a gas heater because my car is too small. Thank you so much for the tip!! 🤗
you can also get 12v car blanket. it barely takes any power. Only thing is that you ll be warm in blanket but the car atmosphere will still be cold. i myself have a blanket. i dont have a heater in my van yet
@@magaligadea
That's something I need to invest on as soon as I can. Thank you so much for the tip! Everyone loves those blankets. They sure seem to be doing the job ☺️
Assalamualikum.. Best of luck sister
Wa Alaycum us Salam... Thank you so much 🤗
winter is a bad time to live in your car...hope you stay safe and well...Im willing my guardian Angel watch over you♥
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
I will look again tomorrow you keep going I admire you from uk x
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
I rebuilt an RV. Living in it alone for several years. The loneliness will take a toll on you. I am praying for you 🙏
That's something I'm afraid of. I seek refuge in God. Thank you so much for your prayers ❤️❤️❤️
@@magaligadea
I have been in isolation during this time. God was breaking me down and rebuilding me in his image. Five years lol I am in school of ministry now and working on becoming a pastor. Even now, being alone is difficult. God looked at Adam and said, he should not be alone and created Eve. The same thing for Eve. I know that God has blessings on the way.
Father in heaven. Thank you for hearing me 🙏
I ask for your protection of Magalia. I ask that she grows in faith and her spirituality with you. I ask that you use this time to show her your unending love for her and that you send Angels ahead of her for her protection. I have faith in you my beautiful Father in heaven and I thank you for my sister in Christ and you keeping her safe 🙏 in the name of Jesus Christ, it is done, AMEN 🙏🙏🙏

I have been out here 6 years now; you will love it!!! I sure do.
I'm so happy for you! I hope I get to that point. ☺️
Love 💕 and light to all ❤ 😊 ……………
I bought a cigarette lighter plug in outlet. I wonder if you could get that and charge the jackery from the car itself. much love out there . well wishes!
Hi Erica! Yes, I have both the cigarette lighter plug as well as the wall charger but it doesn't charge enough because I am not driving too much in the city. I learned about the gym and the library to charge it while I can't use the solar panels 😊 thank you so much for your help. Much love to you too ❤️❤️❤️
The vest you are wearing is a good pillow
Get a hot water bottle fill up where you can it will help keep you warm
Thank you for the tip 🤗
Living in the small car very hard Many blessings
It is. Many blessings to you too ❤️
Who is the artist and what is the song that plays at the beginning of this video? It was the perfect intro. Will be following you on your journey. God bless.

I will be living in my car starting in May I’m very scared and excited it’s the first time I’m leaving my parents house
I'm always scared but I hope that changes one day. I hope you have a wonderful experience and enjoy every moment of it.
Try lands owned and maintained by the Forestry Department, and hospital parking lots. Cracker Barrel of course.
I'm Canadian ☺️🤗
@@magaligadea oh, how lovely.

Happy New Year, Magali 🎉. New Subscriber here 👋🏻. Im also in the Greater Vancouver area. Welcome to vehicle dwelling in the Lower Mainland. 💜🐾
Thank you so much!! Happy new year to you too ❤️
I just had another thought, I don't know how old you are, but the over 50's clubs in Coquitlam used to do warm nutritious means for really cheap at lunch time, for a hot meal that is cost efficient.... joining an over 50s club would give you somewhere warm and dry to go as well during the day... I don't even think you have to be 50 to join.
I'm not in my fifties yet ☺️ but I wouldn't mind joining. However, I'm trying to stay away from metro Vancouver. It's too humid.
Thank you for this information though ❤️
Hi I'm new to your channel just wanted to send positive vibes your way for courage and wisdom to u on the journey u have for ur situation prayers 🤲🙏💞
Thank you so much for your kind support ❤️ blessings to you 💖
I like living inside. I don't like roughing it. I like nice hotels , when I travel
Go to Starbucks and bring your laptop and charge your Jakery while you’re doing stuff on the computer. Also charge while you’re showering. Never let it go dead, so it’s maintenance charges, if you can help it. Get a JetBoil and Coleman Stove.
M.R.E. Meals are nice too in a pinch, until you can cook outside.
Thank you 🙏 Yes, I have a jetboil and a Coleman stove. Thank you for your helpful suggestions ❤️
Maybe when I get a bigger vehicle ☺️ blessings to you too ☺️🙏
You can charge your batteries at a library or gym.
Really?? That's great news!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me 🤗
I always slept in shorts and a T-shirt, or jeans and a sweater. Living in my car was a roller coaster of emotion for me. Best to you.
I understand how you feel about it. All the best to you too ❤️

Thank you for joining me 🤗🤗
my jackery has a car plug...have you found your outlet yet?
Yes, I have both plugs as well but the driving I do doesn't help charging the jackery. Still using outlets ☺️
electric blanket will use less power than heater
Doesn't your Jackery have a DC charging cable/plug that lets you charge up your Jackery with your car? I can charge my power supply through my car 12 volt car outlet. ( cigarette lighter jack).
Yes, I do but it doesn't charge much when you're not traveling. The library is a good option ❤️
Car dealers shops have free coffee. Just wander in and go to bathroom, then go to the coffee counter and help yourself.
Nice to meet you🙋♀️🤸♀️🤸♀️🤸♀️
Nice to meet you too!!! ❤️❤️❤️
What song was that at the beginning?
