    It's odd for me to hear "DEC" pronounced as the letters. I've always heard and said it as "Deck." Of course, this memory is from the 1990s, as in, "Deck Alpha" to refer to the DEC Alpha CPU. Is pronouncing the letters more correct, especially for the 1970s?

      Probably not. I mispronounce things all the time, and I've only ever seen DEC written.
