  • Van Tours + Wild Camping | Vanlife
In this UK Vanlife video we meet up with fellow TH-camrs ‪@kingingit‬ & ‪@JitsIntoTheSunset‬to learn the ropes. We go wild camping in our van for the first time and get inspiration for the diy camper build after getting van tours of the two different sized vans.
We met up in the Brecon Beacons in Wales which is a great spot for camping with insane views at every turn whilst also getting to explore the local canal at Beacon Park Boats
We got so much vanlife inspiration from these guys and can't wait to meet up with them again once our build is done.

Welcome to the official Travel Beans TH-cam channel! On this channel, you’ll find a variety of travel and vlog content, in which you’ll see us in places like Thailand, Japan, USA, Slovenia, and more.
In 2017 we left home with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a sustainable travel lifestyle happen! We are now living our dream as digital nomads and want to inspire you to create your own story, whatever it may be!
After 5 years of aimless, yet enjoyable, backpacking around the world we found ourselves in New York City battling with depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on. After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle.
Our time spent battling depression has influenced our outlook on life dramatically! We are now traveling the world in search of what makes us happy. In our vlogs, we talk openly and honestly about our travel experiences, the digital nomad life and depression. We hope our videos can help to inspire you to create a life that makes you happy!

I found it interesting that both Craig & Aimee and Tania & Adam mentioned having too much stuff was the biggest issue. Tania and Adam wanted a bigger van to solve the issue, but Craig & Aimee have a larger van and still have that issue. The whole "where the magic happens" segment was a riot (who needs editing). I'll sub to "Jits into the Sunset" just because Adam was able to save the ball. :)
As for bird watching suggestions: Elmley National Nature Reserve is supposed to offer great viewing from a vehicle.

Lovely seeing your excitement at looking out of the pop top for the first time. So engaging, take on board what the others said about too much stuff. We are experiencing the same, there always seems to be something else you think you need but you don’t and it just takes up space. Good luck, looking forward to seeing the van develop.

Three great vans, all offering something different. Custard is a magnificent conversion but it will be expensive in diesel and a handful in tight spots. Jits surprised me with the facilities it offered for its size. Getting a kitchen and a shower/toilet into a medium wheelbase van seems like a work of art. Your van looks great, the roof is fantastic and while the facilities will be compromised by space you'll enjoy the best fuel consumption and the easiest manoevering in tight spaces. Hard to choose between the three.

I would totally recommend you to go when possible just across the Channel to a place in northern France called "Baie de Somme" (the River Somme Bay)
With that pop top, you could have amazing views of sunsets on wide open water/sand/dunes with noone in the picture.
On top of it, there is also a great bird natural reserve there called Réserve Naturelle du Marquenterre

I live in Glenshee Scotland. We are about 6 miles south of Scotland’s biggest ski area, but at this time of year the herds of red deer come down of the mountains to feed on the lower grass in the evenings. I guarantee that you would go to bed in the evenings with such a satisfied feeling after watching them, looking up at the buzzards, red kite and you could even catch the Golden Eagles ( many coastal birds and migrating geese come inland to nest here for summer). Check it out - it’s on the a96 from Perth to Aberdeen.

As a german Girl i m a littel confused : a moose ("Elch") lives in North europe a elk ("Wapiti") lives in North America and Central or east Asia. Or ? Where you wanna go and what see ? ;-)
Go to Scandinavia to see the polar or north lights, go to Nordkap, make a Coastal tour, visits the islands of Öland and Gotland in Sweden and the Lofoten islands in Norway (here you can see many seabirds and whales).

These people are the reason the “van life” is going to be awefull this year imagine these parked up at scenic spots whilst others are trying to go hiking or just see the sights it’s not about the places for them just the free living and exposure! And does COVID not exist in van life?

What fun! After 11 years in Africa, I promise you that (most of) it's a lot more doable than you might think! Definitely you can drive Cape Town-Cairo on the eastern route, usually. Northern Ethiopia's a bit iffy so maybe khartoum-Gondar-Addis then south... Or ship the van into South Africa, then drive up to Mombassa - English-speaking Drive-on-left countries all the way! Or just start in Morocco - not many lions etc but still AMAZING!

Something you may want to consider during your build is lifting the van to original height,(You've probably already been advised on this maybe). Lowered vans look great an all that but are a PITA (IMO). The front is adjustable so costs nothing, the rear is a new(2nd Hand) pair of springs. Its an easy job, not as bad as it sounds. I raised my T4, H/D rear springs/adjust front torsion bars and drive around dartmoor/exmoor without worrying about sumps/fuel tanks or such.
Good luck with the continuing build.

Elk/moose - same thing (unless you're in America, then Elk is a big deer). If you go to the North West of Sweden, you can see both elk/moose and reindeer ;) Oh, and wild camping is allowed pretty much anywhere except people's gardens.

you know Emma i just noticed you have bare metal around some of your windows! If you would buy material and insert magnets in it, sew around them to hold them in place, you could use them as your curtains for the night. And if you get good enough magnets you could even leave them up and let the wind pommel them and they shouldn't fall off. just saying. happy travels be safe both of you.

You should go to the south of France, Camargue is the place to be for birds. But it's also full of mosquitos so avoid summer and beginning of autumn. Otherwise there is a really cute unkown place next to the village of Bages (near Narbonne), you also have lakes, birds (especially flamingos) and a lot of cool places to park your van for a wildcamping night.

Come back to Canada. I can only imagine the spectacular views from your pop top in the highlands of the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia. You may even spot a moose or two.

Great video and beautiful scenery! It would be awesome to have your van to sit on top of and overlook the Big Bend National Park in Texas. I was just there and it was breath taking. I saw canyons, birds, mountains, wild horses, you name it. Neat place!!

Great video, as usual. With regard to your van build have a look at the latest build in Kombi Life to check out their elec setup . You must have lots of camera and computer gear like them and you are also going to be limited by roof space for solar. Keep up the good work. Stay safe 😊🤗

@@kingingit I’m concerned about the current Govt. proposals to tighten up on informal stop-overs. Once freedoms are lost it’s nigh impossible to get them back.

Great video, glad you loved the area. We relocated to a remote cottage there after years of boat and van life. You were probably pointing your binoculars towards us! We still can't give up the vans. Take it easy ✌️

I saw you guys on Kingin it last week. When I saw this one pop up, I thought it would feel like a rehash of their video. IT WAS NOT. you guys did an amazing job!! You guys are so fun to watch! The van is amazing!

Looks like a fun time, sounds like its important not to have to much stuff!!! Love the Brecken Beacons, look forward to more travels and seeing how the van build progresses.

Great video guys. I’d love to see a behind the scenes video showing you all filming. I can image you boiling the kettle 3 times so you can all get footage of the coffee😁 and walking up and down a road to collect cameras
