I had the Eberspacher on a boat that broke down twice. The 1st time the ecu had gone & cost over £300 plus fitting. The 2nd time i just gave up on it. I have had the Chinese (HCalory 5Kw)
in the workshop now for a year with no problems. I did quite a few reviews on my channel. Of all the comments there is just one person on a Forum i am a member of that hates them. Well i say hates, i don't think he has one but thinks anything Chinese is ready to nuke you at any time. Thanks for the great comparison.
    Steve.

As a installer of diesel heaters for over 20 years, mostly in semi trucks and boats i can say that i like the Chinese diesel heaters, not better than the German ones but they do serve a purpose for people on a budget, IF and that's a big IF they are installed right. When I install the Chinese diesel heater I throw away most of the stuff that comes with them, like the exhaust system, mounting plate, green PVC fuel line and sometimes I make a custom wiring harness from scratch. Pretty soon I will be installing two of the metal body so called 8 kw Chinese diesel heaters in my 1967 GM New look city transit bus and it's going to be a crazy install but i need to finish building my batteries before I start on my heaters

The eberspachers were marine models originally, just borrowed for vans. Much more important in a marine environment for it to be waterproof etc.

Had my small size 2kw Chinese diesel heater for 4 years or so, it’s done 8714 hours and the glow plug has run for 101 hours. Just had to replace the glow plug and the motor is a bit noisy but still working. I’ve only used it at minimum ever since I got it. I’m using an afterburner controller which is great. I have the same view, you can buy 8 cdh for the price of one of the big brands, as long as it’s installed properly, it should last

Absolutely brilliant...I'm literally about to buy a Chinese heater.
Id rather pay £80 a year on another Chinese heater if it was to break than the expensive one that needs serviced.

Makes sense to me, a new Chinese night heater is cheeper than the service fee on an erberspacher.
We have a video on how to fit a Chinese night heater that a lot of people find very helpful.

Hello, neat video, & thanks! When changing the muffler does that effect how it runs? Also what is the decibels of each operating with original assembly and then after the changes? I've not had a diesel heater and listening to some of them on video sound too loud and annoying....air pressure noise and clicking. Again Thanks for the neat video!

Im sure i had read about how the more expensive ones had a copyright on them that ran out. Correct me if im rong. Which left the market open for the budget ones. Happy days as not everyone can afford a Rolls-Royce lol 👍

That could be so, saying that the Chinese couldn’t care less who they copy 😂

I believe that they had a patent and it ran out. I heard that all the big brands collaborated to fix the pricing to be high.

Ive gone for the russian pannar , its yet to get fitted but its guaranteed down to minus 50 and is built like a tank. It feels like the lada version if heater , heavy, solid, no frills but built for roughnecks like me

I think by myself; take the diesel heater and buy the exhaust and muffler from eberspacher or the Russian brand which name I can’t come up with? Cheers, Albert

If you are doing high altitude, you should also bear in mind the "altitude kit" offered by Eberspacher

You do know that the Chinese heaters are copys of the Erberspacher Air Tronics they are exact copies as the patent run out after 25yrs which allowed them to copy to the heaters to the exact detail

    • @simplycampervanconversions
      @simplycampervanconversions  ปีที่แล้ว

But they’re not as you can see in this video.
Just beside they were aloud to make an exact copy doesn’t mean they actually did it.

The Aerolyn 2000 is a very good Chinese heater. With top quality parts.

It's always the same story. German products were the only ones on the market. So monopolistic business. But to last they have to be serviced, always with exaggerated costs. I recently installed an 8Kw Chinese heather that cost almost one tenth of similar German product. Basically I could have a new, up to date, Chinese one, every year for almost ten years.
