  • Sometimes being healthy and staying healthy isn't about big changes, it's about implementing small changes into your routine and sticking to them.
I'm sharing about the small changes I've implemented recently that are making a huge difference in the way I feel in my health, in my body, in my mind.
I share with you about my diet and what I eat throughout the day, as well as changes and habits I have to protect my mental health and ensure that I am in a good place mentally.
I also share how my hobbies such a sewing are helping me stay grounded in busy seasons.
I hope this video inspires you to take care of yourself.
    Lots of love!
    Alex

I struggled with staying away from instagram, I deleted my account but I was missing out on stuff I didn't want to miss out. What helped me a lot was to identify how I felt every time I had the urge to scroll for hours and addressed those emotions instead. Also setting a time limit each day is helpful. Love your videos! ❤❤

I love being back on social, I feel like I can stay connected more with some of my friends on there and just current fashion and food things. And now that I know it’s a bit of a problem if I scroll too much, it helps me have a healthier relationship with it.
Sometimes deleting it isn’t the answer, but getting to the root of it like you said can help identify bigger things 🩷

Also, everything you said about movement and eating healthy is spot on. What you eat and the exercises that you do affects your physical and mental health. I always feel better when I make a healthy meal or when I do a dance workout. The opposite is true when I eat a lot of junk food and stop working out. Love this video so much! Sending much love to you and the family.💛💛💛💛

Yes, I always feel so heavy after junk food. It’s so great and enjoyable in the moment, but once it’s landed, it’s suffering. McDonald’s always gives me a tummy ache! Good food doesn’t do that.
And movement has got to be one of the best way to stay healthy, mind, body and soul! So will keep it up!
Thank you so much for watching my dear! 🩷🩷🩷

Yes! Movement as "medicine". I take mine every day. I always feel better after. Never once have I said to mysel "I wish I hadn't done that exercise." As far as Instagram scrolling, it's exactly as you described, deeply addictive and you can feel like a zombie. Per your advice, I am going to go thru my list of the subscribes and delete the ones that I am not completely passionate about. And thank you for the cooking tips! 🧑‍🍳

Yes!!! I have never regretted any type of movement. In many ways we were born to move, to be in nature, to be active.
Being selective with who you follow / engage with on social media is probably the best way to interact with social media. It’s a way to control what you ingest and that’s important. X

Love your videos! Such great points about social media, I think I conquered instagram in a similar way, I now just look with a web browser when I want to look at something specific and it’s far less addictive than the app. But, now I seem to have replaced the scrolling/zone out urge with YT shorts which is probably more addictive, need to take action against that for sure, as when I watch such wholesome valuable content as yours it’s clearly superior. Thanks for another great video ❤

I had the same happen to me when I quit Instagram I got hooked on shorts which was terrible. Off it now, but often times we jump from one thing to another don’t we. I also feel like I get so much from one lovely long form video than 50 random shorts! Thank you for watching!!!

Your meals look delicious! I love a plate full of color and whole foods. Prioritizing healthy eating has been really important in my house as well.
Boundaries surrounding social media are so important, it’s easy to forget everyone’s life isn’t the highlight reel they show to the world!
PS: cute dress for your little one, I love to sew for my littles too, they make the best inspiration 😊
    Inspiring as always ❤

Ah thank you. It took me a while to learn how to cook, as I moved to the UK as an 18 year old, with no experience. But once I got the hang of it, it has truly become a passion, and I love sharing it on here.
Yes, it’s true with social media, it’s not always what it seems!
What a high sewing for tiny humans? I made her some things before but never apparel, and this was the first little thing. It’s so cuteee! Thank you for watching. Have a great weekend! 🩷🩷🩷

My husband told me the other day I should start writing down my recipes, and I said to him, I don’t think anyone would be interested, and I smiled when your comment came through cause you proved him right. I don’t have anything written down, but I will think about what I can do to make it more useful! Thank you for asking! 🩷🩷🩷

So truly happy to get to know you, such an inspiring person, so correct and honest. good luck👌 and Thank you for sharing your story about your trouble with social media🙏❤️ it helps me too😔 p.s what are you thinking about TH-cam? for me it's sort of an encyclopedia 🤷‍♀️ storage, space for the extra info...

      The same with TH-cam. That's my addiction😢

Ah thank you for joining me on this little channel. Means a lot,
I have never had a problem with TH-cam it’s mainly Instagram that I struggled with. But I did find that when I deleted Insta I jumped on TH-cam shorts and that got addictive quickly so had to stop.
At the moment I have about a handful of channels that I follow religiously so I tune in to those as they inspire me on my journey and in my creativity and then that’s it. 🩷
But I think it’s al meant to be addictive so gotta be cautious with how much time we spend!

    • @AlexandraBurnett

I found the best way to break my social media addiction is to say no to it for at least 30 days. Cold turkey. The first few days it’s going to be hard. But the clarity of mind you get after and sense of freedom is incredible.
Once you feel you’re more in control, you can go back on your own terms with stronger boundaries in place, such as time limits etc! Hope this helps! 🩷
