Nice video. I am using normal white balls without any problems. I prefer to play with the same ball no matter what the shot. I found the biggest issue was having consistent lighting conditions in my shed where I have my simulator set up. I like to keep the shed door somewhat open for ventilation and depending on the time of day sunlight was getting in too much and it couldn't recognize the ball consistently. Nothing a good old black curtain couldn't fix though!
@@John-ei5uz I’m glad you got white balls to work. I had it working as well but it proved to be less consistent with white. I’m noticing the same thing when it comes to lighting because I have natural light coming in from 3 angles. I’m thinking about adding a soft LED strip somewhere near the putting surface to create consistent lighting so I don’t have to worry about adjusting my advanced settings each time
Thank you! I hope it helps. Let me know if you have questions and definitely check out Triple Bogey’s videos as well. His are very thorough. I use an older Epson. It’s an Epson Pro G6550WU. 5200 lumens. Got it on eBay for $400. I would recommend going name brand but used. Other projectors I was looking at were $1000+ and I wasn’t ready to pull the trigger
Great video. Been trying to get putting working for months. How much light is required? When I play , I turn the lights down and only have a small pin light shining on the putting area. Doesn’t work. Any suggestions? Thanks again

Hey thank you for watching. You don’t need much light, but you need consistent light. I don’t have a pin light but I see those causing issues once the ball leaves the spotlight. I’m considering adding some softer LED lighting to my setup to have more consistent lighting. It’s possible to change the window size in the putting settings that are in the connector settings but I haven’t adjusted mine, rather than sliding my window as far to the right as I can while still seeing the yellow box. Any luck getting it set up?
Thanks for the response. Bought the webcam you suggested, but can only get 15 fpm, not 60. Very frustrated and ready to give up. Any help would be greatly appreciated Using garmin r 10. Works great with GSpro , but would really like to get the putting works. Ty
Great video, im running the same camera. Do you have/have had troubles with your camera settings values resetting every time the putting tracer app closes after each hole? If so, how did you fix the values to stop reverting back to default?
I had this issue when all of the connector files weren’t in one folder. The config.ini file wasn’t being used and settings would reset every time. I would check that everything is together and that your custom values are put into that config.ini file at 01:48.
Thanks man! I hope it’s going well over there. The 60 fps makes a massive difference. When I record and stream, my fps takes a huge hit. When I was stuck at 30 fps, any putt over 30ft was pretty much a joke. Now I can hit 80 ft putts with accuracy
Did you have any issues getting it to use the correct camera? I’ve got a webcam on my laptop and an external one for putting and I can’t figure out how to get it to use the external one
I have had that issue when other devices were plugged in or in a recent case, I decided to reset my pc and when I went to set it up, my webcam driver wasn’t installed. Go to your device manager and make sure it’s working properly. Then, try changing the webcam index, ascending from “0”. You have to close the webcam putting each time you try a different number. If your laptop webcam is interfering, try disabling it in the device manager. Then your external webcam might pop up automatically without needing to mess with the index
@@UnrealGolfSandro brilliant! disabling the built in camera worked for me. I had tried changing the webcam index but in the config file there seemed to be three settings that it could change (replaycam, replaycamindex, and replaycamps4) that were set to 0. Changing those from 0 or 1 in different combinations either killed the whole thing or at best would bring up two camera views at the same time. Perhaps I was just missing the right spot to change the setting
Hi Sandro, great video. I bought the same camera as you, only the Pro version. But i only got like 8-9fps when I tried the setup tonight. Any idea what might cause this? It found the ball and all, but it did not registere my strokes much. The ones that did register got hit 10-30 seconds after my shot
Sorry you’re having issues! Make sure “low light compensation” is off and try to tweak your exposure for lighting rather than upping the brightness or contrast too high. Those can have an effect on the fps. Do you have a decent pc? If the cpu gets overloaded I notice a loss in webcam putting performance. It’s okay until the fps drops under 30 and then it’s not very accurate. Ive never had to wait as long as you’re having to for a shot to register. That’s why I ask about your pc.
@@UnrealGolfSandro thanks, I will try this on saturday. My pc is ok+ it runs it smooth on very high, so I dont think thats the problem. Will tinker a bit more. Will let you know. Have a nice day :)

Nice setup video. I Had no clue I was capping out at 30 fps. Changing to 720p 60 fps now to help pick up those super long puts.
