  • Shebs and I make two stops here. A usually bigger fish stop only provided smalls. You may not be able to tell on cam, but the water here was ripping and pretty taxing to wade. Several fish were lost due to the swift currents. Second stop was more sedate and the browns were were biting hard. Mostly smalls again with a couple 14s in the mix. Happy fishing!

Ron, used my newly purchased lures from you for the first time. They worked great, couple a couple of nice browns. I know you have mentioned this a couple of times but I cannot find the past video, what type of reel and pole do you use?

Glad to hear it Don! For inland streams I use a 5'6" Shimano FX rod in medium power, fast action. I use a Shimano Stradic 2500HG size reel. The rod is cheap 15$, the reel is not. You would do well with a Penn Battle 3 or Daiwa Fuego in 2000 or 2500 sizes for 100$ or so, and would do fine with a Pfleuger President in 30 size. 70$. Some folks like the knock off piscifun reels, but I haven't tried them. Happy fishing!

Ron, I am still learning some of your lingo, but I hear you use the term "trash line" sometimes. What do you mean by that? Thanks :)

It refers to the line that is the distance from the public access that most people won't go beyond, or to, or they quit before they get there. So, basically the trash line is where most everyone else stops fishing. The best results on a trout stream are when you fish places most other folks won't go :) Happy fishing!
