I've been training Muay Thai for 4 years now and honestly, this was kinda offensive to call it Muay Thai. Sure, some of the strikes are proper. but the stance was 110% wrong and Muay Thai isn't that acrobatic. Thought it was still sick tho so im giving it a thumbs up anyway. just a disclaimer tho: what the guy in red was doing was not traditional Muay Thai. it was more capoeira-esque than the traditional "stand up hard as a rock" stance type stuff that Muay Thai fighters use.
yes muay thau is about tuning your body into a weapon if im right. If martial arts categorized into elements muay thai would be earth.

Honest question, from your POV as a Muay Thai practitioner: my assumption is that Capoeira's movements a bigger, therefore slower and almost telegraphed, while Muay Thai's strikes are for more linear/direct and therefore faster. So wouldn't the Muay Thai fighter quickly crush the Capoeira by interrupting his slower strikes with faster ones? (Gonna ask this same question of a Capoeira fighter, too, to get both POV's.)

What kind of Muay Thai uses roundhouse back kick and superman punch? That's more like freestyle kickboxing.
Superman punches actually are a thing in Muay Thai. Same with the back kick. The latter is rarer though tbh and the moves here don't look more Tony Jaa inspired Muay Boran than the sort of thing you'd find in Lumpinee.

Brazil also has its fighting style, although we are portrayed by soccer, we love capoeira and it is our characteristic martial art despite having another that was only recognized by us if I am not mistaken

Hi everyone, I'm from Brazil and I was very impressed with the video.... That's why I decided to bring you a little bit about the history of capoeira
The origin of capoeira dates back to the time of slavery in Brazil. Many blacks were brought from Africa to Brazil to work in sugar cane plantations, coffee plantations, in the fields or in the homes of the lords. Capoeira was a form of struggle and resistance.
However, so as not to arouse suspicion, the slaves adapted the movements of the fight to the corners of Africa, making everything seem like a dance.
In the beginning of the 19th century, in Rio de Janeiro, bandits were called capoeiras, as the writer Manuel Antônio de Almeida recorded in "Memories of a Militia Sergeant". In 1888, slavery was officially abolished in Brazil. Many freed blacks were left without a job and ended up in marginality. In Salvador (the Brazilian capital of Bahia) they even organized gangs and provoked rebellions. Capoeira was banned for a long time.
In the 1930s, capoeira had already acquired a new status in our society. President Getúlio Vargas himself invited a capoeira group to officially perform at the Catete palacy Capoeira was launched. Capoeira teachers from Bahia (Brazilian State) became famous.
Although capoeira seems harmless, it has been proven to be a very dangerous and fatal fighting style.
This guy fights capoeira well, but we Brazilians are better in our own style 😂😅

I thought the history of capoeira that was first ever discovered was that story of slaves solo barehanded duel against white men using a gun

Since Lateef Crowder exhibited his martial art in the cinema and I realized it because of him and it is very effective although some refuse to practice it but I am very sure that this martial art has great surprises

There were too many fancy spin kicks which they were supercool but you will not usually see that much in muaythai.
Although there is a deadly round house kick in Muaythai (Jorake fad hang : Crocodile's whip) , it's kinda hard to perform in the real fight because the swing would be so wide and during the turn would gave a chance to the opporment to defend with othe easier skills like block , step back ,fainting or 'Teep' (direct push kick) which it is much easier and effective. That's why we did not see it that much, ( in some muaythai tv show, the promoter would provided a special reward to the fighter whom performs a perfect joraka fadhang during the fight)

Saenchai comes to mind......although he doesn’t do things which would hinder his performance or fight - he does however do things extraordinary similar....he’s a beast!!
I prefer Muay Thai over most fighting styles because other styles look good and badass in videos and movies but irl they are rather harder to pull off and are inconvenient.
Muay Thai has this stand still rule where you gotta stand your ground and that's what's more important

Não, na verdade a dança presente na capoeira foi um belíssimo trabalho dos escravos na época que o Brasil foi colonizado, pois eles não podiam praticar artes marciais devido ao medo dos colonizadores terem medo dos escravos fazerem uma rebelião e usar essas habilidades contra os colonizadores, sendo assim os Capoeiristas fizeram a dança como um método de disfarce.

I'm from Brazil. i've been practicing muay for 2 years, and sincerely NEVER liked capoeira because of it ''slow paced'' swings, and i was so WRONG about thinking that capoeira was SLOW! After seeing some competition videos, i saw how cool it is. But i anyways respect both arts, they both are awesome in their ways.
Como és br irei falar em pt, fiz 12 anos de capoeira e cara, a capoeira só é lenta pq ela é feita para ser desviada (como esporte) mas mesmo quando são dois profissionais experientes a luta ocorre tão rapido que é assustador, e quando ela é lutada pra valer é realmente perigoso levando em conta a força excessiva dos chutes e a velocidade retardadamente alta

@BOSTA DE CANAL Que pergunta estranha mano. Primeiro que no segundo que vc entra em um lugar que pratica muay thai, vc aprende os bloqueios, principalmente o de chute "Round House", chute circular.
Mas sim, este chute pode "quebrar" costelas, pois fazemos com força total.

Jason Prosser because capoeira has ancient roots based in Angola africa before the slave trade began. So why not have seen in black panther atleast angola styled capoeira.
Roots of a style doesn't mean it will make sense. Specially when you see they cater more to the tribal African and more modern of choreographed fights. It would look odd a choice to use this style amongst the other stuff.
