Honestly I’d love to see a Vekoma hyper, their new rides are amazing and it would be a bucket list coaster to draw enthusiasts to the park. Honestly though in the years in between I’d love for Dollywood to get a couple more modern flats.
Yeah, my only gripe about Dollywood is their flat ride selection. I’ll never forget when they tore down the log flume to expand the country fair area and added a handful of flats. It was so exciting at the time but now all of the rides are outdated. I enjoy the ones they added in wildwood grove, but I feel like they need some more thrilling ones that aren’t geared to just kids/families
@@jtbowman132 I know. Adultwise they have the screaming swing and the drop tower. I’m sad they are removing the disk-o but from friends at the park it’s been having a lot of issues. I would love for them to get a calypso if they could find one in good condition. That’s one of my all time favorite flats; it’s a must do anytime I visit CP, SFGAm, or CGA: if only Holiday World ran theirs like the other us parks with it.

I want to see a new age Vekoma thrill coaster! Whether it’s a looper, or hyper or a mix of both I really want to see it happen. And another prediction is within the next season or two, I predict that the rest of Lightning Rod will receive the iron horse treatment. I rode it this past weekend, and from my very first ride (shortly after the I-box track was added) to now, the wooden sections have gotten incredibly rough, and the transitions between the two tracks are incredibly noticeable. There isn’t a lot of track left to be converted but I do see it happening in the coming future
As my cousin is the attraction manager at Dollywood, he has said that Dollywood won’t be working with Intamin and the reason is getting extra parts for their products. Anyway, on to the point of the post: I think a Mack or Vekoma hyper would be a good fit for Dollywood. B&M are out of the cards given how close Six Flags Over Georgia and Carowinds are, and both have B&M Hypers. A few other models that would be a good fit are a Vekoma Wildcat, Vekoma Hyper Space Warp, Vekoma Renegade, Vekoma Firestorm, or Vekoma Bermuda Blitz. However, I’ll be fine with a Mack Xtreme Spinner.
Tossing this out there as I think Dollywood and Vekoma could be in a 3 coaster contract - they talked about a deal they had back in a tour in the future big bear mountain area that coaster studios went on. What if instead of a spinner from Mack, Dollywood and Vekoma go all in for a tilt-coaster Giga (even a hyper)? That would destroy a B&M hyper or terrain hyper plus give amazing views while the train gets tilted and released. Only problem they have to solve is capacity and reliability. I don't see them adding something they already have at Silver Dollar City because they want some differences to make people go to both parks and not just one. Besides a tilt-coaster is basically a hyper just with the addition of a tilt table to begin the drop with, so it can check multiple boxes for enthusiasts.
I would love for Dollywood to get a B&M Giga, and perhaps the tallest one at around 350 feet. Just imagine a large B&M Giga towering through and sprawling around the Smoky Mountains. I know a large B&M is quite expensive, but then again, Dollywood itself is expensive. And they worked with B&M before when they built Wild Eagle back in 2012, and I’m sure they would love to work with B&M again, this time on something truly ambitious, the likes of which being a super tall Giga.
At this point, I would like to see Dollywood and/or Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Sevierville add a mass transit system of some sort that would include an out-of-town train station with a railroad to help alleviate road congestion, but maybe I'm too big of a dreamer.

I believe they let it slip earlier this year they copyrighted the name “iron horse”. Wes Ramey said in a tour around the village area that the name for the new pizza place (iron horse) will also be coinciding with a future attraction/expansion. If you look where the old tunnel used to be where it’s just that vacant walkway now, it looks like the next big expansion will be there. And if you look at a map there’s PLENTY of room for a huge hyper-esque coaster in that area
Here's a crazy wildcard: What about a Vekoma flying coaster? Take the F.L.Y. concept and bring it to the Smoky Mountains as a terrain-conforming awesome ride!
I am all for a new ride, at one of my highest ranked park on my bucket list. When it comes to a new ride at Dollywood, I can totally see them building for their new major roller coaster at least a new type or ride or a type of coaster that is rare in the USA. This way, Dollywood is home to only an amazing new ride, but also to ride that they can market more easy. Due to that I think a Giga Dive coaster is totally possible. Ehen it comes for the Hyper/Giga rumor, I am totally on board. Just for the fact that a Hyper/Giga at Dollywood could easily become a ride that is as stunning to look at, as Widefire at Kolmarden. Since Dollywood, really likes to spice up their rides with theming, I could also see a "Giga Infinity Coaster" from Gerstlaur. You know, a ride like Kärnan from Hansa Park, but taller, meaner and much longer. With some insanely creative theming, unexpected elements and maybe a dark ride part. Also Vekoma and Mack Rides could be highly interesting for a Giga. As their latest designs are just hands down incredible. Another coaster type that could fit as a major new ride, could be as you mentioned a highly themed Invert by B&M, like Black Mamba or Nemesis. And last but not least, I could also see America's first Flying Coaster by Vekoma build at Dollywood. A flyer, like no other in world! With incredible theming, inversions and tons of airtime, that plays with the terrain. But, no matter what Dollywood will build, I am 100% sure, it will be an amazing edition to the park. Maybe, Dollywood could go "All-In" and build a 2 punch. You know, 2 Coasters, that interact a little with each other. Just imagine the size of a Giga-Infiity from Gerstlaur that interacts a some parts with a terrain focused Invert from B&M. But, with incredible theming at a detail level of Taron or F.L.Y. and a massive, Infinity Coaster like Kärnan that towers above everything. Also, If they go for enclosed vertical lift, Dollywood could also utilize this structure for a Drop Tower, and the top of the structure as a Observation Deck. With that, this new area of Dollywood, could easily become the best themed area of any theme park in the entire world.
You should do a prediction video on where the next coaster at Sea World Orlando will go. I'm sure there will be at least 1 more coaster before Universal opens their third theme park right across the highway from them in 2025.
I had a thought, Dollywood keeps cancelling their firework shows (according to their Twitter) and if they bought all these fireworks just for them to not be used, it would be a major waste of money, maybe they can replace the firework launch zone with a B&M Hyper like Candymonium.
I don't think an American Xtreme Spinner can beat any European one. With US standards, all Mack Xtreme Spinners have to be semi-controlled. In Ride to Happiness, they removed the thing that slows the spins and it's truly a freespin
I think a Bermuda Blitz something like Lech Coaster would do amazing things here especially since we know that Vekoma ain’t playing around any more and that coaster type can really pull those + & - G-Forces we’re all looking for!!!
I haven't ridden a dive coaster yet that blew me away, they all feel so similar to each other. B&M too, I've been on lots of B&Ms and they suffer from a same-ness, a lack of intensity and new, creative elements. Steel coasters in general lack personality compared to wood IMO. Thunderhead is the best coaster at Dollywood. I'm a wood coaster guy & Thunderhead blew me completely away a few months ago. Over 40 rides in 2 days & it's intensity _at night_ hinted of Voyage's insanity. My desire, for _any_ park, is a big, Gravity Group woodie, along the lines of Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Boardwalk Bullet. GCI would be great, too. Wood coasters, however, are declining. I highly doubt Dollywood would go there. I don't care I'm in the minority, wood coasters are my passion.
B&M inversion coasters are amazing. Nemesis is 25 years old and never seems to leave the top 20 world coasters list. It was also built under the treeline and in a quarry and Dollywood could use its terrain in simular way

I would love to see a Mack Hyper. Dollywood does not have a Mack Rides coaster, and it would be a very different experience than any other roller coaster in the park. It would also be the first Mack Hypercoaster in America (great, since there are 3 B&M hypers around a four hour drive from Dollywood).
2026 will be 10 years since their last thrill coaster installation. I personally would love to see a B&M flying coaster similar to Flying Dinosaur or Tatsu come to Dollywood
Ima have to predict that this new addition will be big but only time can tell, why I say that Dollywood focus is also on families aswell as adults also they just added Big Bear Mountain so who knows the next coaster could be a big addition or another interesting family coaster.
Brandon instead of a dive coaster how about a tilt coaster because Dolly hasn't had a coaster that does different loops, twist and turns in a long time. Or maybe she'll build a new wooden hybrid with all the flips and twists.
If they do go with a dive coaster I hope it'll have an element filled layout rather than the typical one trick pony that a lot of the B&M dives are. Given Herschend's ambition I am expecting a Golden ticket winner.
Wife and I had honeymoon in disneyworld and universal this year - our first ever theme parks. Wondering if this should be next on this list? We like both both, but prefer theming over thrills. Thoughts anyone? We are travelling from Ireland so considering Europa Park in Germany either as it'll be cheaper to get to.
Dollywood is very Tennessee themed a must visit if staying in the region as well as Great Smokey Mountains National Park Gatlinburg has many attractions as well should have a Casino in about 4 to 6 years as well
Dollywood has been rumored to get a B&m hyper/ giga since before lightning rod. Pete Owens, one of the directors at Dollywood has wanted one for the longest time
Herschend have been updating various areas of the park and the owens farm area is currently the worst in the park and they had been weighing options on what to do with slidewinder with that ride now being taken out I see them developing here next and revamping the area. I could see them move barnstormer and revamp the area completely. They did offhandedly say they were looking at this area next so I would say its very likely this will be the anchor point for the new ride. I don't see any reason they would go to the trouble of completely removing slidewinder if they weren't planning a new ride to take its place.
Could 2026 just be a new version of FIRE IN THE HOLE like what Silver Dollar City is getting? Maybe that wont be big enough for 2026 but I have to believe that a reimagined/reconfigured Lightning Rod and an all new version of FIRE IN THE HOLE in a new location will be coming to Dollywood down the road. I see the launch on Lightning Rod eventually removed and the 1st lift hill replaced with a chain and the height moved up to over 200+ feet. Maybe these projects will go into action after 2026 if they want to do something bigger that does not involve an existing attraction.
Either one of these new gen log flumes or like if Mack did a water coaster where the mountain slidewinder was would be good. Just something water related to pay respects would be neat
With the amount of time to work on it, the unlimited land, and money available, I hope they go all out and blow us away. I don’t want them to pull a Kings Island with Orion and blow a huge opportunity. Although I do like Orion.
I think the dismissal of a dark ride is probably incorrect. Interesting. If this park had a B&M dive built, would they be able to overthrow Yukon Striker for tallest, steepest and fastest dive? Be interesting for sure. Or unless there is one Europe that bigger than Yukon. I like those spinners, be good for Canada's Wonderland. Much fun speculating.
If the First RMC Trex gets built in 2024 or 2025 , and is very reliable , there might be enough room there for one , imagine an 500ft plus RMC Trex on the mountain side there , that could easily cost the money that Dollywood would prob. Spend on this project , plus would be a very big draw to that area
I have an idea but don’t know if it is possible. How about a family B&M Giga dive coaster. No inversion. Max speed 48 miles per hour. 360 feet tall. And rider hight 38 inches to ride.

Second, even for the parks that do have enough money / space for one - I don't always predict that. Considering the term Iron Horse is typically a term used for RMC conversions I don’t know what to think about that

A Hang gliding themed Vekoma modern flying coaster would be perfect for Dollywood.
Also give Silver Dollar City a Vekoma STC so both of their flagship parks would have a coaster with inverted track that has inversions.

I would love to see a Mack Hyper. Dollywood does not have a Mack Rides coaster, and it would be a very different experience than any other roller coaster in the park. It would also be the first Mack Hypercoaster in America (great, since there are 3 B&M hypers around a four hour drive from Dollywood).

A Dive Coaster here would be great they could break so many records
2026 will be 10 years since their last thrill coaster installation. I personally would love to see a B&M flying coaster similar to Flying Dinosaur or Tatsu come to Dollywood

Ima have to predict that this new addition will be big but only time can tell, why I say that Dollywood focus is also on families aswell as adults also they just added Big Bear Mountain so who knows the next coaster could be a big addition or another interesting family coaster.

Brandon instead of a dive coaster how about a tilt coaster because Dolly hasn't had a coaster that does different loops, twist and turns in a long time. Or maybe she'll build a new wooden hybrid with all the flips and twists.

Been to Dollywood 2 Times. Big Bear Mountain & Lightning Rod.....CLOSED....Both Times. They Don't let you know until you buy that $100 ticket !
If they do go with a dive coaster I hope it'll have an element filled layout rather than the typical one trick pony that a lot of the B&M dives are. Given Herschend's ambition I am expecting a Golden ticket winner.

Wife and I had honeymoon in disneyworld and universal this year - our first ever theme parks. Wondering if this should be next on this list? We like both both, but prefer theming over thrills. Thoughts anyone?
We are travelling from Ireland so considering Europa Park in Germany either as it'll be cheaper to get to.
Dollywood is very Tennessee themed a must visit if staying in the region as well as Great Smokey Mountains National Park Gatlinburg has many attractions as well should have a Casino in about 4 to 6 years as well
Dollywood has been rumored to get a B&m hyper/ giga since before lightning rod. Pete Owens, one of the directors at Dollywood has wanted one for the longest time

At last year's ACE Event, the DW Rep said it'd be 2 NEW Coasters with BBM coming in 2023 and an even bigger one following it.

Herschend have been updating various areas of the park and the owens farm area is currently the worst in the park and they had been weighing options on what to do with slidewinder with that ride now being taken out I see them developing here next and revamping the area. I could see them move barnstormer and revamp the area completely. They did offhandedly say they were looking at this area next so I would say its very likely this will be the anchor point for the new ride. I don't see any reason they would go to the trouble of completely removing slidewinder if they weren't planning a new ride to take its place.

Could 2026 just be a new version of FIRE IN THE HOLE like what Silver Dollar City is getting? Maybe that wont be big enough for 2026 but I have to believe that a reimagined/reconfigured Lightning Rod and an all new version of FIRE IN THE HOLE in a new location will be coming to Dollywood down the road. I see the launch on Lightning Rod eventually removed and the 1st lift hill replaced with a chain and the height moved up to over 200+ feet. Maybe these projects will go into action after 2026 if they want to do something bigger that does not involve an existing attraction.
Either one of these new gen log flumes or like if Mack did a water coaster where the mountain slidewinder was would be good. Just something water related to pay respects would be neat

If it's a $100 Million, any Manufacturer can do a Giga or Hyper and should have a great theme.
With the amount of time to work on it, the unlimited land, and money available, I hope they go all out and blow us away. I don’t want them to pull a Kings Island with Orion and blow a huge opportunity. Although I do like Orion.

I think the dismissal of a dark ride is probably incorrect. I was told any new expansion it would be over in wildwood grove by an employee and they usually know a lot

Interesting. If this park had a B&M dive built, would they be able to overthrow Yukon Striker for tallest, steepest and fastest dive? Be interesting for sure. Or unless there is one Europe that bigger than Yukon. I like those spinners, be good for Canada's Wonderland. Much fun speculating.

A spinner would be great for this park.
If the First RMC Trex gets built in 2024 or 2025 , and is very reliable , there might be enough room there for one , imagine an 500ft plus RMC Trex on the mountain side there , that could easily cost the money that Dollywood would prob. Spend on this project , plus would be a very big draw to that area

I have an idea but don’t know if it is possible. How about a family B&M Giga dive coaster. No inversion. Max speed 48 miles per hour. 360 feet tall. And rider hight 38 inches to ride.

Second, even for the parks that do have enough money / space for one - I don't always predict that. You can't tell me with how successful Time Traveler was for SDC, that Dollywood isn't considering a ride like it. Anyways - thank you for watching. I know not everyone will agree with me - and that is totally understandable :)
