  • The NC State Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox is an innovative tool for gardeners. Thousands of plant profiles are easily searchable by desirable characteristics and the profiles contain text descriptions, photographs, and sometimes short videos. Users are encouraged to consider year-round functionality and potential disease and insect problems as part of their selection process. Native alternatives are given for plants that are problems in the landscape. The primary goal of the plant database is to help consumers select plants that will bring them joy, provide a valuable function in their landscape, and thrive where planted.

    I keep mine in my greenhouse until it's warm enough outside. I am in zone 6a. I am disappointed in the fact that it doesn't flower much for me though. I think I have maybe about 4-5 flowers going to open soon. I think maybe I need to prune it next fall, maybe THEN, it will flower next year on the new growth? The first summer I had it, it bloomed really nice. The foliage stays nice and green year round in the greenhouse, it even is fine when my GH gets really hot when the sun is out at all times of the year. I repotted it LAST spring (2022) so it's not in fresh soil, BUT, I saw a video that said that it does NOT need repotted EVERY year to do fine. And, that it is fine with lean soil, even that TOO much nutrition can make it NOT bloom.

    Oleander (Nerium oleander) is a common ornamental evergreen shrub. It is used as a freeway median divider in warmer states, such as California. This plant is extremely toxic, and a single leaf may kill an adult.

    How can you determine that damage is not caused by Oleander leaf scorch?

      With heavy mulching and a good plant cover during winter could help. They'll shoot right up from the base in spring.

      I’m in 7b and bring mine in over winter. It’s a great houseplant, doesn’t mind the low humidity in the house

      @johnleebass 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes! It's best to burn as much as you can in a confined space so you can inhale as much as possible and not waste the smoke. Enjoy!
