Having restored a few swords and guns that were over 200 years old.... I make a mount for each and on the wall they go. Rust can burrow clean through where you can't see it. Never trust a weapon that has corroded.

I advise you to hand over this revolver for remelting. Since a thick layer of rust has been removed, the parts of the weapon will have backlash. This can cause the revolver to explode in your hands.
