Having restored a few swords and guns that were over 200 years old.... I make a mount for each and on the wall they go. Rust can burrow clean through where you can't see it. Never trust a weapon that has corroded.
This guy forcibly rusts and ages things for his "restoration" videos. With this one, I'd say he scuffed the finish off of a cheap revolver and put it in saltwater for a while, then made his lame attempt to fool everyone.
