What do you think about adding an additional gear bracket to normals to separate the random guy with 1 green weapon with the more geared players? Let me know below!
Just last night I ran into a team of three with nothing weaker than epic gear cursing up a storm while targeting the rest of the lobby. They definitely should make a slot that's harder than normals but easier than high roller.
I actually was thinking it would be how the first implementation would be. I was very disapointed it was 25-infinite. so I just stay under 25 because even if I try to gear myself to 100+ I'm not experienced enough as a player to fight 300+ gear players.
we need it really badly, my entire experience has been wear under 25 gearscore = run into fair fights almost exclusively. whereas if I even dare to wear 26 gearscore I'm running into bis full blue/purple
100% on board for adding additional gear brackets. I don't mind being outplayed I just want it to be on an even playing field. I understand that the game is in early access and it's the nature of the game but as a brand new player it doesn't feel great knowing that the team that killed you and your homies had blues and purples while spamming emotes as they wiped your team.
Normals should have stayed the same it was perfectly fine but this what happens the Timmies and casuals cry and IM GO BACK to allowing gear disparity in normals just so Timmie can bring in that green.
Game absolutely needs more brackets. The queues can handle it, and that, in my opinion, is the only real viable concern that can argue against it. Everything else is just people wanting to stomp newer or undergeared players. I've never waited more than 10 seconds for a lobby, and typically it is literally instant - so quick I can't even unqueue if I want to change something in my loadout last second. I will say though, that I think the gearscore you mentioned in here for the second bracket is too low. I think it has to be closer to 200 if the goal is truly to protect Timmies and give them a good time. The goal should be to protect from people kitted out in all blues/epics and allow people to use a few blue items or an item in every slot, since that is a major part of enjoying this game for people who don't have hundreds or thousands of hours - you want the dopamine of equipping a blue item or 2.

Totally agree with the 3 thresholds of GR. Im a new player just started to rock pvp with white items on 24 GR but Im still getting crushed by players while playing above 24GR by full purple gankers… There should definitely be a tier for green players before letting them face purple/blue on the highest tier. I've seen last night spell damage cleric using build you've showcased recently, he murdered 6 players and found me at the end, tried to fake friendly but kill feed kind of gave him away, so I bailed with extract next to me, his GS was fully optimized for spell damage and 100%+ speed 300+, glad I heard him in advance and positioned myself right at extract doors
Any OG player will remember that in the early days of the game normals was exactly like it is now - a free-for-all. Dripgravy was still doing the same shit back then too. Thankfully nowadays timmies who don't want handled gear to be a factor in raid have the luxury of queueing

I just bought the game and I think its absurd that as soon as I equip one green weapon, im now going up against people with 300+ gear score and lvl 100 players almost every time im not under 25 GS. Your argument about bully's running into anti bullys is purely anecdotal, how many time have you seen this happen? It was REALLY fun getting 2 shot and not knowing why for 3 days until i realized that it wasnt a skill diff i literally was only doing 15-20 damage to some of the neckbeards who go into normals with only epics on. I do agree that they should try to enhance HR, but until then there should be a green tier queue where new players can get used to combat without getting raped

@@Firebox720 Yea, I see that now. I'm playing the free to play one now and hopping around classes so I didn't unlock all perks on 1 character before I was trying another. As a new D&D player, the gear requirements should have more brackets to them if they’re going to have a gear based matchmaking system. There’s no reason I’m a fresh Bard going in naked fighting players with 250+ gear score and obviously getting completely rolled. Makes trying to learn this game super hard and probably harder than EFT cause at least there a new player can get lucky and 1 tap someone or ofc land a nade. Before all you guys say skill issue, don’t get me wrong it is IM NEW but that doesn’t mean I can’t try and fight people and try to play the game. I think another gear bracket would be good, maybe even forcing HR after it. My main problem is I have 2 choices to bring a solid kit into. A. Normals where i'll get a lot of pvp, most of it will be stomping but atm probably 20-40% of it is solid fairly geared people (im talking my kit is like 1-4k). It's fun not as much focus on pve and you can honestly make a lot of money in norms, like 500-1000 easily with outlier games being ~2k (this is not including player gear) or B. HR where the PVE is much scarier, half the time the lobbies are dead and so see no one so its just PVE farm simulator. And a solid amount of the pvp you do get into is try-hards grinding rank in legit 50-100k kits that will just 1-2 shot you almost no matter your gear. So unfortunately the most fun option seems to be shitstomping norms looking for people that are doing same for fun pvp. Instead of farming PVE until you get nuked by a full leggo grinder. I do like the idea someone posted make the gear bracket around 200ish and if you are above that you get forced into HR but it's free. You are already risking a solid amount of gear so its not like you are just bypassing the fee.
There's nothing wrong with playing geared up in normals, but using thst gear to trick people and ruin their nights is scummy behaviour and will ruin the newer playerbase if left unchecked
I'm still really new and struggle in PvP and am working on learning the PvE mechanics so I can go into my PvP fights with full health and I won't go above 25 item level because I run into people who just out play me on experience. I even run into people with 3 or 4 epics in Dup and Trio under 25 normals.... no idea how they're doing it.

New players want to practice fighting. Of course they are going to fight you and then you destroy them. You can blame them for trying to fight you if you want but... Protecting the timmies? Yeah, sure...
everyone laughs with a rogue in top gear, but I see a clear problem that is not being solved, this is a rogue who plays well, has top gear and still RISKS everything every time he goes into a duel with much less dressed opponents. Is this the norm? Why is it so bad that some classes can run around in green pants and be competitive, and the rogue in top gear are about the same as a scantily clad mili. It's painful to watch.

Firebox x dripgravy colab when? Name a more iconic duo
Running juiced normals is lame
I dont think this was really protecting the timmies. You were pretty much like that rogue except you let few friendly people live.
I’ve seen the prison portals not spawn before
Nothing more makes me mad than someone friendly crouching just to kill me 3 min later
Thank you for wrecking those mfs🫡
