    Excellent video and in fact better than most videos of this type because you show the exteriors and particularly the interiors of the station buildings and thus give a more complete picture. Any video that starts from the platforms disappoints me immediately because it is leaving out an important part of the story. Congratulations.

    Very interesting. It is really the atmosphere of a journey in a train, with gorgious landscapes through the windows. Thank you. We had planned to visit Scotland in July (2020) but we have been obliged to postpone our holiday to July 2021... What a pity !

    Great video, I know the area well, if they had not closed the North Ballachulish to Oban line, a short bus ride from Ft William to NB could have halved the journey. Still good though.

    Made the Crianlarich to Oban journey in the mid 1970s. Spent several hours at Crianlarich waiting for the connection, the Tea Room seemed to be the centre of all things in Crianlarich. Heartbreaking to see that the old Oban station has gone.

      Julian Fisher would love to go back in time for a week with my camera ! Thanks for sharing that ... didn’t have long for the connection but the time room was a very welcome sight

    Good video. Great scenery with Crianlarich station looking good. Perhaps I missed this(?) but I was hoping you would have included Kilchurn Castle at the head of Loch Awe (I assumed it would be visible from the track - I assume you missed this because you were sitting on the 'wrong' side of the train?).

      @@intercity83. 😄Maybe not. There's a lot of trees between the line and the castle so it might not have been possible to see it. Here's a link to what you missed - th-cam.com/video/AXLEJQSeNk0/w-d-xo.html

    Some of those people at the change acted like they only had 20 seconds to board or be left behind.

      We had a delay here for 30 mins and it was nice to get out and stretch our legs and take our masks off and the tea room was open too at the end of July.

    Regularly voted one of the best train journeys in the world,pity it's being let down by 30 year old train stock that's way past it's best.
    Come on Scotrail/Scottish government get the finger out and get this train stock upgraded.

    • @Sierraomega1991
      @Sierraomega1991 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The old stock works because its uncomplicated and very reliable in the winter this line can be brutal to travel on and these old trains so it no problem and there cost effective at doing it as the train is a split it starts as two different trains than joins together to do the full journey to glasgow

    • @MrCmac731
      @MrCmac731 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Sierraomega1991 I'm fully aware of the of the intricacies of this line having travelled on it many times for holidays and visiting family in the lochaber area. The point is these super sprinters were first introduced in the late 1980s and are well past their best,passenger expectations have moved on since then unfortunately the scotrail trains have not. If we are talking cost effective then this line would've closed many decades ago but fortunately its been spared and is heavily subsidised by the rest of the scotrail network so all the more reason to invest in new more cost effective stock.

    Although I have a car I much prefer looking at the scenery from a bus or train as I travel to Oban from Ayrshire. Wearing a mask for three hours on the journey these days puts me off.
