I don’t know why but the effects of the conflux on specifically esper started to get me emotional. The idea of their cold hearted hierarchies and cruel domination giving way to serenity, growth, and sensitivity is a truly beautiful idea.
I have fond memories of Alara the first set I played after highschool and me and my boyfriend broke up so I lost that sort of connection with that community. Alara pulled me in with multicoloured madness. Zombie discard and just rocking all 5 in a fun for funsies deck I still have now even though I don't do much playing now. It was fun feeling like everything was mixing.
I never played standard in Alara, I played in Scars/Innistrad and Innistrad/RTR. The Lorwyn/Eventide/Alara standard always seemed so fun to me. Cool that you got to experience it!
@@patbateman69420 Some satisfying hard hitting choices I loved to. The ultimatum cards were almost cruel. Lots of 2/1's with dual protects and like first strike or something for 2 dif types of mana. So you could get a quick guard as you build for just mean cards. Cruel ultimatum was if I recall right opponent loses 5 life, discards 2 cards, and sacs a monster, while you gain 5 lift, 2 cards, and a rez. It was cool I can still remember all these years now.
Jund is definitely my personal favorite of the shards mainly for the art and designs of the various beasts that roam the land also it appeals to an aggro player like myself.
Which really breaks my suspension of disbelief a bit. Phyrexia has so much monstrous/ugly tropes, I find it hard to believe that people could be indoctrinated in seeing it as "perfection".
I’ve been dying for a @TheLorebrarians “Ravinica” since like, two years ago when I started following. Up until very recently I used to tell myself “well, it’s such a hellish vast and complicated plane, and with so many things being released, I dont think it can or will be done and perhaps it’s for the best…” But now I have no doubt about that he’s more than perfectly competent to cover Ravnica and give it more than a worthy treatment, he might do it without breaking a swea. It is my favorite plan, so I’m both protective and biased, but this man have my trust. I think next he will do Tarkir (logical progression from Shards to Wedges and all that) but I second the request for a trip to Ravinica more than any other request. Congrats @TheLorebrarians, you may not be a servant of the Progress Engine, but you have advanced admirably. On second thought, you probably is a servant of the Progress Engine, who knows by know.
I love all of the Shards but one.... Bant is the three dual color combos I use least in game and lore wise sounds oppressive, suffocating and honestly really boring. Unsurprisingly, in contrast, Grixis is my go to shard (GIVE ME THE HORROR, BAYBEE!!) with Jund and Esper as 2nd and 3rd respectively. Naya sounds cool but I have never tried it in game (working in a deck for it at time of comment)
I really enjoyed your 5 Shard standalone videos, glad that there's now a single video where the whole plane is covered at once
Always loved the theme and style of Esper, but god is it terrifying. No emotion. No lack of personality. Only metal.

The intro between each segment is VERY last airbender and I love it. Could listen to your analysis for hours
Get ready for our trip to Tarkir and the khans then! ;)

It has been one of my favorite planes in mechanics, lore, and artwork. Still hoping they make a return
@@TheLorebrarians I would enjoy another visit myself. Here is hoping and keeping fingers crossed!

A tour de force. Thank you for all this work.
Of course, glad you enjoy
I've got no time right now for it, but I like and comment, as I have no doubt you've done a great work with this plane too 🔥👏🏽 Have a nice week! 🙌🏽
Love these places! Well put together!

This was a great series. Nice job on these. A beloved series that I feel that I understand and love a little bit more now!
Glad you enjoy it!
Esper is just Phyrexia but pretty.
Common sense phyrexia

@@justachannel8600Then you know hardly anything about them.
Awesome storytelling. Always a highlight for me to listen to your videos in my freetime
Love your storytelling.
Love your work mate!
Appreciate it
Every single shard sounds awful. I suppose Naya would be the least awful, but I'm a blue mage at heart.
Gasp! Your video confluxed!
One of the best magic channels, nay… best TH-cam channels.
Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoy!
Great Work!!!
love the thumbnail "Alara EXPLANED"
Bant sounds horrible if your one of the majority in the mortar caste. Basically glorified slaves if you ask me.
Mortar caste just sounds like the average person in our world. At least in Bant it seems easier to be recognized for your achievements.
Thank you for this amazing story telling...... its wonderful and your voice is beautyful. 🍻
Thanks so much, glad you liked it!
Just saw this on my feed. Is this for the upcoming set????
Personally id be chillin in Naya.
Do ravnica please

Is use of esper dune plains for naya slides intentional?
Was it ever stated what caused the sundering?
some unnamed ancient planeswalker i think
Deez nuts
Nice video
Can we know how the 2 mana planes like dimir and selesnya got their names?
Hoping to cover all the guilds of ravnica and the plane in an upcoming 3 part video series
@@TheLorebrarians nice. Looking forward to it.
i like the idea of tarkir being the missing half of allara
Obligatory 1st
