I'm a US transplant in Spain and this toilet gave me the works until I saw this video and how easy it is to remove and install the top buttons/cap. Thank you!!!!!
TThank you. After water flushes, the float drops and the cistern seals, then the cistern starts to fill up. How come the float doesnt lift and unseal the cistern?
@@fiveminuteman Im describing the normal operation. There is a float - yours is blue. Floats do what floats do which is to float on top of water. So how come when the tank fills up with water the float defies physics and doesnt float to the top? If it did obey physics it would lift the seal and releasing the water? Why does it stay closed? We used this video to help us but we didnt really need it because we managed ourselves. Let me know if anyone needs a plubmber because now it is us
Thanks for the clear and concise instructions. I couldn't see how to safely remove the dual flush system to clean that valve. With your help I removed that dual flush without snapping anything. V happy.
Many thanks. I thought I had a mains leak as my water bill doubled. It was the internal toilet overflow wasting water. After a some hours of frustration with a new unit in bits!! replaced adjusted and working again. Quite simple when you know how. I will keep my fingers crossed for a few days. There has to be a better flush invention waiting to be discovered
That's ok and glad it helped. I agree the system isnt very good and you can see water dribbling down the inside of the for quite a while after flushing.
How do you get that grey washer off at the bottom? (the bit you said you might keep) I have 2 that are fucked and need to replace them but don't want to force anything. At 3:01
Hi,would you advise how to adjust the value flow outside water more ,as the water flow out is too little and stop now, but 0the tank still hold with high volume. Thanks.
Thank you for your video. It took my hours to discover there were other broken parts as well as the buttons. After hours of trying to line up the rods, I did it. Me a stupid female too. Saved myself a big plumbers bill. Thanks again,
Just one quirky issue. When you push the new unit down there are flat lugs on the plastic piece just above the rubber seal that need to line up exactly with the piece screwed into the cistern. If they don't line up it is impossible to clip the new unit into place.
So I have exactly the same mechanism, except the blue bit is styro. I took it out last week and it started leaking after reinserting. I bought a new valve, but it's still leaking. Any advice? Or can't be that complicated, right?
Huge thanks for this video. I have this exact system in my toilet, broke it initially when taking the top off without realising you had to remove a screw. Bought a replacement and fixed it within a couple of minutes. Thank you!
Loved the video, but had one of a hell time getting the top part to un-latch from the bottom. So much so that it moved the part that stays in in bottom of the cistern, now the buttons are not in the correct position.e. left and right but now at 45degrees to where there were but that saved me taking out the whole cistern to reposition everything as I could not get the base unit to go back to where it had been. again spot on video, I would have never have done it without your help thanks.
We have a roca flush thingy and I have ordered the new part, but it doesnt turn and click into the bottom base already in the toilet, how do I replace the base, does it screw out??
At 2:19 - that top long piece piece with the blue ring around it. Can you please tell me what it is that called. Mine has cracked and is now spraying water everywhere. I had to turn the water off to the toilet as it's filling still via the crack even when the level has stopped.
Use a thin bladed screwdiver and carefully prise the bottom bit off. You then find it is keyed onto the shaft so next time line up the keys if you know where they are. If you use the right spanner you will find that the bottom bit rotates with sufficiernt force but I have been unable to find a way of locating the keyes to make removing it easier. But just do it. It works.
how do you remove and empty all the water in the toilet if it is clogged. ive tried a plunger but doesnt seem to eampty, and ive turned the cut off valve but it doesnt seem to be doing anything

heya great video im trying to fix my roca toilet atm but but for some reason when I put the plastic rods into the top part of the valve and screw then in they dont move down at all even when I push them down hard meaning I cant actualy flush the toilet is there a fix for this? thanks
Solonduin I had a similar issue where the plastic rods were not seated properly when putting the lid on. I think it took a couple of goes at making sure they were not trapped when replacing the lid.
when I screw the rods into the plastic housing adaptor bit they dont seem to go below the actual housing meaning they smaller rods arnt touching the actual flush buttons? hope that sorta make sense. it look like in your video the rods are poking below the houseing even without the lid or screw on I still cant flush the loo
Solonduin what I remember is that the rods are adjustable so screw up and down. I also remember that if the rods were stuck the plastic insert in the cover was also adjustable.
You need to adjust the length of the white plastic rods the buttons push into. They screw in to shorten and out to lengthen. They should have a slot so you can do with with a small flat headed screwdriver.
Can you just replace the silicone seal rather than the whole unit? If so how do you get the seal off, does the seal assembly unscrew, or is it a push fit - or do you just stretch the seal and pull it over the end?
