I remember those when I was a kid growing up in Hanford California in the 70's

Yep, I grew up in Hanford, 70s to 80s. Used to ride at People's ditch and Hidden Valley. It was a great day when I got to go to Pismo to ride the dunes. Rode at Kettleman Hills once. Nice to see your comment, love the nostalgic old 2 strokes. The smell of the exhaust, especially when using Bel-Ray, made my blood flow.

The trademark triple nickel plated tank..
Reminds me of my first bike, a crusty Ace 100...

My parents got a brand new ACE 100 for my little brother. I was riding a stripped down 350 cc Ducati Sebring. Mom had a BSA Bantam & dad had a 250 Suzuki Savage. Sister had a horse! Them really was the good old days.

@@savage22bolt32 I found mine in the back room of a Harley dealership for $50 in the mid '90s.
Sold it many years later for $350.

Wish i lived close by to the museum, I'd turn up with a bag and a litter picker so i ain't gotta bend 🧓, and just smell the two stroke, kaplan America wouldn't mind anyone cleaning up the community he's all for nature and beauty 🇺🇸🙏🇬🇧

Had a combat wombat. Great lower priced bike. Not competitive in MX (the Elsinore revolution changed things forever) but great learner. Mine did not have the DID smooth rims, it had the deeply ridged ak's iirc. cool bike.

When I was 14 years old my friend had a Wombat Combat. I used to rent for about 5 bucks a day. I beat the snot out of that thing. So wish I had it now.🤙

One of my friends had a Wombat Combat. At the time I had a 1972 Honda SL 100.It was a great bike to learn how to ride on and a good little trail bike but I would have loved to have gotten a chance to ride my Friends Hodaka where I could have really opened it up.

Had a few of these as a kid. They were fun but had issue with ball shift transmission.
    Cool funky bikes .

I used to go watch local Motocross races in the early and mid 70's and A Brother and His Sister used to race Hodaka Super Rats in The 100cc class.Back then they were pretty competitive until Cr's,Rm's and Yz's came around.Always thought those Chrome gas tanks looked cool.

Man I remember the Ace 100s in my dad's old cycle magazines when I was kid. I remember the wombat as well. I thought they looked the part for their age.

with the head and tailight's removed. The trail / street version. The Combat Wombat was the MX version. This one is not.
