One of your very best interview you did for very sure ! This one is the essence of what is this music is, the feeling, the thoughts, humors .... etc. EVERY THING is in this interview. Too short but it's like it is.
You do a fantastic job for so many decades. BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!

Thanks for the positive comment. It started out as a challenge. Ray did not want us to videotape so we ended up with just the audio but I'm glad we did.

@@filliusjazzarchive Ray was sometimes difficult ... he was a close friend of mine ...It's a pity but you got the audio. I'm a huge fan of your great work. Please, keep in doing it.

@@reisserjean-michelakabeeth8551 yes he could be difficult. Ask Diana Krall about that!

Ray is one of my favorite musicians. It’s such a pity that there’s so little info about the man. You are real lucky to have known and befriended him. I wish there were more footages of these jazz legends❤️ Their music touches me so much that since I got hooked I could hardly listen to anything else. It’s the intimacy and sincerity in their music that other genres couldn’t compare with.
Is there any stories you could possibly share with us about Ray?

A great interview, thanks very much for this! So much history here, along with humor and great insight from this master musician.

Highly respected, especially after Ray's reaction to the "greatest bass player" remark. There isn't any such thing as greatest bass player, greatest guitarist, greatest piano player, etc.

There is, the greatest players are just extremely humble as they are always improving

I hung out with Ray back in the late 70’s. He was amazingly nice and even allowed me to play his bass. What an honor…
