Beautiful song done by a master. When I listen to this everything goes away and the world stands still except Ledwards virtuoso slack key pickin. Mahalo
When I was about 10 years old, I would work in the circus, watering the Shetland ponies, for Barnum and Bailey's when they would come to town. That was when I made a promise to myself to go to Hawaii. In the side show they had a Hawaiian troupe there and the music was the most beautiful I had ever heard. However, at the age of 73, I think I will wind up breaking that promise, unfortunately. Through the years I learned to love the Islands, the music and the people and customs. I have tried to learn the language to no real avail. I especially love to watch the Merry Monarch Hula Competition. And then along comes Ledward Kaapana, and I found the one I'll listen to until my death. I wore out my brother's records out of Webley Edwards, I have played the crap out of my Hawaiian CDs and now I'm trying to play like Led. Especially "My Yellow Ginger Lei". He and Fran will finish out my life for me... Musically, of course.
When I listen to this song, I'm transported back to Hawaii. Those lazy afternoons on the back porch of the house listening to my Grandpa talking story with his friends about when they were young.
this is what i love about Hawaii and Hawaiian Music. the Slack Key guitar is soothing and relaxing to listen, no matter where or when, at parties, fishing, at the beach tanning, or just cruzing with friends at home or beach. i can never get tired of slack key or hawaiian music.
Led music like Alien to me in this music world... Can't shake this feeling... Salutey imperia,led... Your music coloured my life with feeling it's bring along...
Living legend. My grandmother’s family was from Kapoho long before Hawaii 1893. Pohoiki, Drain Pipe, Queen’s Bath, Kalapana Black Sand Beach. Lucky to cherish those memories.
Lived near Kailua, Oahu for several years in early 70's when I was 18-20 years old. Married on Maui in 2001. Aching to get back for a little aloha ever since. These music's call the magic of all that place back in waves ! Mahalo
The first time I ever heard Radio Hula was by Led when I watched the stream of his performance on the Kennedy Center website. Fell in love right away. This brings me back those ten years ago.
Thank you so much SIr - seeing you play and listening to your music is always food for my soul and my dreams. Please play on and make millions of people happy
Much love and support to you and the original native people of Hawaii continuous effort to maintain their freedom and their generations to come know that it is done and you have already won. Aloha Namaste. Namo Amituofo
Great to see the Legend captured in beautiful high-quality video. Uncle Led's smile always brings me the feeling of fun and satisfaction he must feel while playing.
First heard of you through an Acoustic Guitar newsletter 4 days ago, and cannot stop listening to you play, I even have 'Eye-Worms' of your playing! You have given me inspiration to learn a different genre on my acoustic.
Led is just finishing up a tour through northern California and on Monday he'll head back to Hawai`i. He lives on O`ahu and performs every Saturday evening at Honey's at the Ko`olau golf course. Once a month he travels to Maui and plays the Slack Key Show there and the next day he heads over to Kona on Hawai`i Island for a show at the Royal Kona Resort. You can keep up with his appearances through his website: ledkaapana.com/concerts.htm Fran
Now 23. Sad. I grew up with Hui Ohana and Sunday Manoa. I just want to know who are the punks that beat up my Uncle John Hale at Pohoiki. He died weeks later in the hospital from the injuries years ago.
Ignorant people, so lost in suffering from their own & generational trauma (that literally changes epigenetics) , blind to the healing power of music & the spirit of Aloha. So lost in the mind, separate from heart & body, separate from true self, consciously or unconsciously believing they are separate from Ke Akua, suffering from the separation within, from the 'āina, from God. Lost souls. Indeed, lost souls in psychic (& often physical) pain. May all who are lost be found by the power of love, the living, breathing spirit of Aloha. Mahalo Ke Akua!
Damn.... what a rockstar !!! I can listing to ledwards music all day. Hafa adai from Guam 🇬🇺

I'm craving Spam Musubi.
por favor alguien me podria decir el nombre de ese tema?desde ya muchas gracias
setecayo1fetasalame Radio Hula.
muchas gracias! durante mucho tiempo lo tuve en el celu sin nombre alguno, y no podía dar con el tema
Anyone know what gage strings he uses?
Harmonics or "bell chimes!"
I think the name of the song could or should be Malia Manuel it is only right to coalesce two things of equal beauty
Don’t sound like my yellow ginger lei. Must b a new version
We hear less and less now with the younger generations.
Get chicken skin every time
What a great way to start off the morning by sitting your favorite sipping a cup of coffee and listening to this beautiful style of music.
