That’s really weird how the holes almost perfectly line up considering the forty year difference between the two. Those step bits from harbor freight are the way to go when making big holes. The drill so fast and if you break one they’re super cheap to replace.
Where did you source the spring buckets and radius arm brackets for the swap? Im having a lot of trouble swapping my ‘78 from 2wd to a 2011 super duty front end because of parts

73-79 share a lot of the same frame rails. Differ a little bit 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive. I also did this on my green truck, which is a 74-75.
