    would you do a video on seasonal or proper timing for trunk chopping a Japanese maple? The way I understand it is to wait until time of dormancy, but i don't know what time of year that is.

    Hi Ma-Ke, Any update on this lovely little Acer?, maples are my most favourite trees, I have around 60 of them at the moment, Bonsai and Patio trees! :)

    Where do you get your green moss spores? Is there a special species of moss you use?

    Great video to watch. But it was difficult to hear you - lots of interference. What soil mix did you use for this repotting ?

    Great video. More detail than most videos on TH-cam. Your insight and experience is appreciated. Also, don't mind the naysayers. Sounds like jealousy to me.

    Mark also please try making a video of exposed root style bonsai. I am very interested in how those are made along with root over rock style.

    sir i have a question , i live in indopak region in my city where temperature reaches to 40 C in summer, can i use water retaining cristals in soil to hold the moisture a lill longer ?

    • @MaKeBonsai
      @MaKeBonsai  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sanwal, i would try and avoid using chemical additives to the soil, as they can be counter productive. I would use higher amounts of coconut husk, bark, and other suitably mulched organic matter. I would work on other strategies to help my bonsai pot retain water longer, like semi-shaded areas, maybe use netting; maintain high humidity around my bonsai, extensive use of water tray possibly.

    Cool vid! I am surprised to see that you and Nigel Saunders have what seems like EXACT OPPOSITE approaches to repotting.

    • @MaKeBonsai
      @MaKeBonsai  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Providing a stress free repotting, is a primary goal of our repotting philosophy.

    • @Dononcall
      @Dononcall 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, I see mostly similarities between the two gentlemen in their approach to repotting.

    Nice little Palmatum. In my opinion you have to upgrade the sound of your video,
    I hear too much interference. It might just happen to me I dont know.
    Like always, god job. :)

      You are right sound has been my Achilles heel, am learning, and will get sound better. I think there is a buzz of the electric heater which i did not hear while editing. It somehow got exaggerated between my copy and TH-cam copy.
