Awwwww! I was born in 1972. My parents had the Folly Hill post office from 70-75, then we moved to Weydon Hill Stores shop in Wrecclesham. Lived there till I was 11 😊

Hi Steven, I lived in the top of Spring Lane 1962-75, so used to use your parents post office. Many fond memories of the area.

@@steeplejock hi mate sorry for replying without saying anything! Was in a rush. I’ve been promising to post old family pics on the Facebook group, but have yet to get round to it! 🙄
      Will do soon...

Terrific! So many memories of growing up in Farnham. We moved to Moor Park in 1954. I went to West Street Boys school, Farnham Grammar School. Returned, after college, to teach at The Park Primary School. Married and remained living in Farnham teaching in Hindhead before moving to Leamington Spa in 1976.
Very happy times. Thanks for your set of photos.

Very interesting. I was brought up in Farnham, where my father was a GP. In the 50s his surgery was at 19 East Street, near the Regal Cinema. That was before the Health Centre was built, down a side road. We used Aldershot & District buses all the time - the 6, 14, 10, 19, maybe others: they went along Hale Road, where we lived.

Spot-on. Dr Sydney Kent (my mother always called him Kidney Sent) and Dr Paul Narula. They joined in the 1960s, I think. Before that my father’s partner was Dr Cecil Halliwell. The Halliwells had TV very early, and we went to watch the Coronation on their tiny screen.

Was that the one near the Albion? Close to where Hale Road begins.

I was born in Farnham hospital in 1950 and spent most of my childhood there I still class it as my home town
Nice to see the Regal cinema I used to go to the Mickey Mouse club there on Saturdays. Castle Street we used to get on the Aldershot & District London coach used to be at the arms houses I went to the C of E school in West street before moving to Middlefields off Green Lane when I went to Wrecclesham juniors moved away to Aldershot before returning to live in East Street and then going to Heath End & Badshot lea secondary schools . I then moved away to Camberley in 1964 before returning back to Farnham in 1972 again living in East Street but moved again back to Camberley in 1974.
Now an OAP I revisit the town now and again and my memories flood back Oh Farnham baths …...We lived there in the summer
I want my youth back !!! Who recalls Lloyd & Keyworth record shop in downing street with the listening booths ?

Thank you - very nice video, I enjoyed watching it. I just learned that some of my great great grandparents are from Farnham, Surrey area. Specifically in Wrecclesham. I'm very curious, have you seen or heard of "Harford Cottages" in Wrecclesham? That's where they lived.

The 'footfall' back then was huge, no wonder the High Streets of towns today are struggling.

    Left there in the 80s.
Still a lovely place but totally unaffordable for most unless you work in the City and can suffer the commute each day.
I think a lot of people are just surviving on debt and things are going to get worse now.
Some of the council estates are ok the pre 60s ones.
But they have all been bought up decades ago.
God knows where they house council tenants in Farnham now.
The surrounding villages are lovely but you have to be pretty plush to live there.
