  • See how easy it is to connect Sensi room sensors. Sensi room sensors are designed to remotely monitor temperature and humidity in different rooms when paired with a compatible Sensi smart thermostat.

Isn't the end result the same as effectively raising the thermostat higher?

I've been breaking my brain trying to understand the use of these. I think my final thought was exactly this, wouldn't we just turn the thermostat up until whichever room is "cold" feels like it's finally warm. I mean I guess they'd be nice to know which rooms aren't getting as much heat and/or humidity in the home but yah, overall it's the same as turning up the thermostat I think. Our daughters room is always colder than the rest of the house, so if I put this in her room and say I want her room to read 72, wouldn't the rest of the house have to be at say 74 or 75 either way? I don't know..........maybe I'm misunderstanding what these do.

@@dennistopolski9740 so I bought two of these sensors after posting this comment. One for the master bedroom and one for my daughters bedroom. When connected, what they do is report back the temp and humidity for each room. Like you, my daughters room seems to be the coldest in the house. When the sensors are connected and you have them toggled on (on by default), what it does is average the actual temperature value between the thermostat and the rooms. That average is what shows up on the thermostat itself as the current temperature. In reality this is effectively like offsetting the thermostat in the app either plus or minus, but it's being done automatically as an average. So yes, you can just dial up the thermostat to a higher temp (which is effectively what happens when using the sensors to average) or you could offset the thermostat in the app, which is pretty much like dialing the thermostat up or down anyways.
Overall I do like what they are capable of doing, but for what they are, they should be like $19.99 each imo.

@@dennistopolski9740idk. For instance my room gets down to 65 at night when the thermostat is on 70. Which is fine. But the thermostat is near the front door and they’re big glass doors that are older. It always reads a few degrees warmer and more humidity than the rest of the house would be. So in the summer months of Florida our AC runs like 20 hours per day. Our bill can get into the high $300. We are getting new doors anyway but for people who cannot afford to spend a few thousand dollars for new energy efficient doors, these $40 sensors work well. We put them in the living room and master bedroom. Dropped our power bill pretty significantly.

Not really. If you have a damper for upper and lower floors and have your sensor on the upper floor for example, the damper can shut/open in response to the demands of the upper floor.

Wait, so you cannot set the schedule up with the sensors!? deal breaker!!
