Thanks so much for your valued advice. I've been watching and listening to you explain the basics to audio production and beginner's hardware reviews for two months and your advice has helped me make much more informed decisions, thank you again!
Remember that FL studio also has lifetime updates, so it's something you only buy once! I bought FL studio 8 in 2008. Now I have recently updated for FREE to FL studio Producer Edition 21. Have also tried/bought Ableton several times, but found that Fl Studio was better/just as good and a much cheaper investment over time. But in my experience, I prefer FL Studio to produce electronic music and Hip hop, as I work much faster in FL. A cheap beginner's tip is if you learn to use a PC keyboard as a piano, then you can make fast melodies/beats without a real MIDI (the only difference is the pressure sensitivity that you can get on MIDI). So you can start with just a PC and DAW + free/paid VTS plugin
If you are going to buy studio monitors I would recommend the kali audio LP6. They are the best bang for your buck studio monitors, and they sound amazing.
Yes def a good recommendation. Slightly more expensive than the Presonus monitors, but definitely worth the extra money if you can afford it. Thanks for the comment Arsonloke!
@@PatrickBreenMusic my first monitors were sterling audio mx3's. They were great for the price(50 bucks), but after about a year I was ready to upgrade. I got the kali audio LP-8 monitors. Glad I got them. Thanks for the video!
Yo! Appreciate that my friend! Thanks for watching. Also, small creators like me often get buried by the algorithm and have to promote some of our videos to reach people. videos like this one take a lot of time to make and the algorithm doesn’t always reward hard work lol. So next time you see a promoted video from a small creator, give it a chance 😁✌️
Love your videos! I know you appreciate "portability" with instruments, so I was hoping you might be able to answer question for me: what is the best mini keyboard (with onboard sounds) that can also double as a solid midi controller? I do a lot with Arturia plug-ins and use LogicPro. Thanks...and Keep up the great work!
Hello. You video was full of information. My son is ADHD and I think making beats would be something he would love. What would u recommend for a 7 year old. It would have 2 be something he can use on the go with a head set
I will follow up your channel, your video came to me in correct time, right now i just make beats in my mobile and later i will buy these instruments to create them to real beats, iam now working in sales, im saving some money to achieve my dream carrier
Ableton 90 day trail period must only be available in US, cause in Australia we get 30 days! Don't need one for sure but it is definitely helpful in Australia I think if your in a budget on a MicroLab is the best solution. For me with the Akai MPK Mini MK3, I couldn't justify the 10 bucks between the Mini versus the microlab as the microlab key bed feels better for me. Are you even a producer if you don't have the M50x in the studio? The presonus are dope I have the 4.5s in my home studio. Another great video mate! keep it up love from Australia as always.
Good look on the knowledge appreciate it, do you think the akai 2000xl it's still relevant today I would like to learn it, but I am focused on newer equipment.Peace
Please explain me how and where can i plug 1 midi keyboard, 1 headset & 1 pair of speakers ? Do i need some kind of dock & in Ableton setup input / output devices ?
You forgot to mention have different qualities of listening devices to make sure your mix is perfect on a lot of speakers and headphones He's advise is very good i wish i had this video when i was starting out Patrick may you please make a video giving advice on a home studio that is semiprofessional
I didn’t forget to mention that. This video is meant for beginners - People who just want to start making music. You really don’t need much to get started. You certainly don’t NEED multiple listening devices to make beats lol. I mixed my last single on headphones because I didn’t have access to my studio during the pandemic. Thanks for the kind words! I will definitely make a semi professional studio video! That’s a great idea, thank you!
Just a mom trying to get my kid a bday gift. She wants to start learning to make beats. This video was so well put together concise and clear. Thanks so much for explaining it in a way a non audio person can understand!
I need all the studio equipments fully but i cant buy then i my country cause they are too expensive (I AM IN UGANDA) and Amazon doesn't ship to this specific country. Any solution??

@@PatrickBreenMusic The audio interface….is it just for instruments and mics? For example….if I wanted to add someone’s voice to the music I could do that with the audio interface, right?
My son is 9 and loves music and making beats. He's asked for a bear maker for Christmas. Can you suggest a basic kinda "all-in-one" beat maker for a 9 year old to just start out with?
Fl studio also has life time free updates
Thank you for sharing that info!
yup! Boo ya!
The quality of your channel is top tier and it boggles my mind that you don't have more views.
Thanks for the support my friend 🙌

Thank you so much Patrick very informative. Have a great day.!
another daw option is to use the ones that are often bundled with whichever audio interface you get.
That’s a good shout! The bundled DAWs are usually intro or limited versions, but still a good idea
Great video! So informative, and I appreciate your equipment recommendations.
Glad it was helpful! Cheers!
absolute gem man. thank you.
What I'd really like to know is where you got your gorgeous wooden desk and that sweet monitor arm that's clamped to it :)
I built the desk and the monitor arm I bought on Amazon. The company is called Vivo. Cheers!

Is it possible I can just use an electronic keyboard instead of the midi controller because I already have it? It has all the same features
Please how do connect all this to start beat productions and recording mixing and mastering
So it's best to make beats with an interface plugged in? What if u make a beat then plug in the interface will it make it better or
