If you're shopping for sliders for your F150. RCI released a frame mounted slider after i purchased these. I have other RCI products and based on those, I do recommend them as a company. Also, they are reasonably priced.

Nice. Researching sliders for my F-150. These do look good. Take care.

If you haven't found a solution yet, RCI recently came out with frame mounted rock sliders.

How have they been holding up ? I have heard others say the body mount location is very strong.

I hit a few rocks with them. So far so good!

I have a grievance with these. I’m not sure how much protection they provide. It looks like they attach to the body which won’t provide protection at all. It will just bend the body when you hit something.
Actual rock sliders connect to the frame which won’t bend and will support the frame of the vehicle. Every other slider I’ve seen from Rocky road connects to the frame. Is this one a knock off? Genuinely curious.
Edit: if they are genuine it looks like they work well. There’s a picture on the website of them being picked up by a forklift😂

Before I purchased these, I contacted RRO customer service. They said while these DO mount to the body, they were able to lift the truck with a fork lift without damaging it. This does account for a static load rating, however not a dynamic load.
I know the body mounts are pretty tough, because I hit the oem side steps on a steep break over angle. I broke the step and bent the mount for the step, but didn't damage the body. After I removed the broken step, I double checked the mounting location on the body.

I have the exact same truck up here in Canada. When you're in 4x4 high do you hear a "grinding" noise when your turning a sharp left or right? I took it to Ford and they said it's all right.

No I do not hear that sound. I wonder if your IWE unit is broken? You aren't using 4wd on dry pavement are you?

@@simpleinstinct no I only use it when it’s snowing. First time I heard it was when I was parking the truck on a parking spot, I think we are not supposed to do sharp turns with 4x4 on…

It should not make a grinding sound if you're on snow....

Those aren’t rock sliders. They’re just glorified nerf bars. They’re only held on by 2 pieces of aluminum and a pinch weld. A true rock slider will attach to the frame and will support the entire weight of the vehicle. If you smack a nerf bar it will most likely be the failure point. Something you have has a good chance of doing body damage. They will prob work for light use but I’d be afraid to put the full weight of the truck on them. They might never fail but they will also never compete with a true rock slider. Check out RCI off-road or white knuckle off road. They make true rock sliders that attach to the frame in 4-5 locations

These DO mount to the body. They are decently heavy.

You could also look at the White Knuckle Offroad sliders as well. Those ones are frame mounted. If you need the extra protection.
