it takes serious balls to speedrun this game, amazing job you can't beat the music and sounds in this version either, it's such a joy to listen to and watch
How can one play this version? I tried installing a version from the Internet Archive, but it runs at the speed of molasses. Seriously, I couldn't even get past the MSX screen. In fact, what are the main differences between this version and the remake (apart from graphics and sounds, obviously)?
The remake is mostly the same, some puzzles have changed to make them a bit less obtuse, but also some things have been made more difficult, dealing more damage and such. The remake is more recommended for newer players and if you really loved it, go play the classic after or play 2. Purists inundated with the classic version would prefer the classic most likely, and would consider them more different, which is fair. But you gotta consider the personal experience of it as well.
if i remember correctly, one of the function keys - F5 maybe? - toggles drawing mode, that's what i needed to get it to run at normal speed. I also had issues with enemies not getting drawn, i had to enable limited colour mode in the .exe properties to fix that i think

Gotta love that MSX1 esthetic.
And it's FREEEEEEE
wait its Free? how do i obtain?

Mark Yorke You need to wait in that room to make the Ankh appear on the frontside Twin Labyrinths.
So developers remaking it were like "lets remove SOME bullshit, but then add a whole bunch of new one" ?
Dont get me wrong i like this game, in theory. In practice youd have to pay me to finish it
It's interesting to see the differences between the original and the remake.
what was with the waiting around at ~0:59:00?
Great run, I enjoyed watching it.

@@PeppoMusic Hmm, I see. Thanks for the help! Is there any other good way to get the classic version?

@@monkybros oh! I see...
The reason why that you don't pass the MSX screen is that you need the Unity 3D engine
17:24 This is the same way I have to do on the Wii version?
damn good one ^^
How can you go to the different areas by pressing numbers 0-9? I can only press 0 to return to the first screen...
You need to read a specific tablet in each area to be able to warp there.

My game takes too long to load the initial logo, and it's kinda slow, does anyone know how to fix this?
If you set up steam to launch it, it seems to fix the problem
@@Shinigami13133 well, it's the original one, the one that looks like it's on a MSX, can I launch it with Steam?
@@Mike14264 you can set it up to launch through steam by adding it as a non steam game.
@@Shinigami13133 I tried that, still slow...

Wish the original got released on Switch. Not a fan of the updated version
Why? Also, lots of things are different between each one, more than just graphically.

The new version is a masterpiece
This version could be more informative from the name of the locations going,as change the japanese legends for english legends
