Back in the 1990s, a guy working in my local Oddbins persuaded me to part with £16 for a bottle of 10 with the grotty old orange/black/silver label. I was dead suspicious until I tasted it.... bought a lot of that after!
This should do the trick groceries.asda.com/product/mixers/asda-ginger-ale-1-litre - Alternatively, for further ideas of how to put the dregs of Springbank 1919 you may have sloshing around to good use; tune into Bevvy during December for some festive cocktail ideas.
Springbank just seems to be the whisky just now that most people want. The auctions are full of them and you can get any Springbank you desire if you have the money. There's at least anything between 250- 500 Springbank available at all the U.K auctions every month. But is it really just another decent whisky ,and are people just jumping on the bandwagon and also pretending they like it,when they don't really? Are people just wanting to be part of the hype? And why is it the Springbank countdown collection 26 and 27 year olds only making the money they cost at RRP ,with some actually losing money. You would think that the fact there was only 500 of each, they would be highly collectable, with a more expensive price tag, especially on the secondary market. And to think a Macallan 30 year old is almost twice the price of the SB countdown collection bottles, and are 43%abv and chill filtered, that the Macallan is still more collectable. Personally I think the people are just more gullible.
Don't get this at all. I inderstand that the aromas and notes need talking about but In the time it took them to wax lyrical I suspect that I would have been on my third shot at least.
What a stunning bottle! Charles MacLean is making this video so much more complete 😉
Wow what a special sipping, cheers! 🥂
This is the flavour of Scotch history 🙌

Wow, 800€ a dram, special occasion
Was at Springbank distillery last week. Did a great tour, tasted some great warehouse stuff and blended my own Single Malt. Unforgettable.

Springbank 10 is the best scotch I've tasted to date. The 50 year old must be something truly special.
I've had 18 year old Springbank and it tasted like bliss.

Could you make more videos about Springbank Distillery? I'd really appreciate it.
We love Springbank! We've got a video coming up soon of Springbank 1995 Samaroli Magnifico, and there will no doubt be plenty more in future too.
I need to watch this
Awesome video. It's always a treat to see and hear Charlie ruminating on matters of whisky but the sheer joy in his voice here was very special. 🥃🥃🥃
Can anybody tell me about a realy realy good quality artisan ginger ale that can perfectly pair with a whisky like that...??

The bottle is opened but ten minutes of boring chat from the old man they try it. Crazzy. I couldn't watch it to the end.
Wonderful vid, very much enjoy the musing and informative style of this one!

Dream to blend Talisker + SPringbank = easy enough ! (for me )...
That sounds great - Talisker's pepperiness combined with Springbank's funk!
Yer springbank bevvy cool 👍🏼

Darn.. I was hoping for the bottle to be gone and a brawl to break out between them
