Judging from the number of Swedish metal groups doing covers of ABBA songs, Swedes must be massively proud of them.
This video is absolute gold! The portrayal of such ancient times (I don’t know what era this is) with the train journey etc is just mindblowing and comfortable to watch.
The most amusing aspect of it is seeing the old men at the beginning singing along to the chorus.
I never appreciated Therion until now since I enjoy epic symphonic metal more than ever today.
The Swedes and the Finns got us some music

Иногда захожу послушать. От этой песни мурашки по телу. Что-то демоническое, особенно если знать перевод. Хотя у Аббы это просто веселая песенка.

This originally appeared (I believe) on an album of heavy metal tributes to ABBA, with all different bands doing different ABBA songs. Most were kinda bland, some seemed more like parodies.This one -- THIS ONE -- not just the best on the album, one of their own best ever, and no matter what you might think of ABBA, better than ABBA's original. And this video just makes it so spectacularly surrealistic and spooky. Just a brilliant piece of work.
Maybe not best as Abba because voices of Agnetha makes me fool ;😉But I recognize this very good.

Trixtah, it is not better, just a heavy metal version. I would say Therion version is very well ballanced, that is the secret. Though the rythm and music here are much simpler, than in the original.

El otro día estaba platicando con unos amigos y surgió la pregunta: "¿Alguna vez has escuchado un cover que esté mejor que la versión original?", después de analizarlo y debatirlo llegamos a la conclusión de que "un cover mejor que el original" es demasiado subjetivo ¿Cómo defines eso? ¿Qué lo hace ser mejor? ¿El artista, el género, en qué año salió? ¿Que te guste más a ti la hace ser mejor? La pregunta se replanteó y quedó: "¿Alguna vez has escuchado un cover que te guste más que la versión original?" Y ahí ya podemos responder...definitivamente este tema entra en esa categoría.
El cover tiene más elementos que son : coros ,y los vocalistas son más expresivos la música es más inspiradora y muestra que
ahí la iniciativa de crear algo conocido es
convertirlo en una obra maestra.
