    My wife bought me a 104 about two months. Yes they do cost $25,000.00. That's the only thing I don't like about one. Aside from that it is a great mowing machine. I had a John Deere XL 279 before and it took me eight hours to mow my lawn. With the 104 a little over a hour your done. It's a lot of fun to run. I actually find myself mowing more than I use too. It does a much better job of mowing than the John Deere. The wings on it, you are suppose to run the cylinders all the way out. Maybe I'll make a video of it and put it up. Oh I'm not a professorial company just a private owner. I love the machine.

    That thing rides really rough, I would have got a full suspension Ferris they ride like cadillacs~ Ferris can cut a ton with a fuel efficient kawasaki engine or a Catapillar diesel engine~ 72 cut is all I need, if you want the biggest ever Lastec has a 120 cut, it's the world's biggest zero turn~

    I like the mower and I'm a big fan of hustler mowers, but like any mower it has its goods and bads. Nice wife cut and looks like it makes a clean cut but should have put a diesel on it and figured out the rear discharge on it, not saying it's bad but if you don't clean the mower off after you use it then that's begging for something to mess up with the way that gas is hitting it I can only imagine what the underneath the rear of the mower looks like

  • @FatrickTomlinson

    We cut whole solar farms that are 8 feet tall with these things. The hustler 104s are fuckin beast but are pricy to fix. Very worth it if you have some serious field/acreage to cut.

      Hustler designed that to make it so that you don't have to trim around beds or ridges the won't drops into the ridge to cut it and not have to hand edge it.

    I hear that Exmark owns over 50% of the commercial lawn mowers sales. My neighbor that mowers our grass has a Kabota 24HP Diesel with 60" cut and it does an excellent job and he can mower 3 huge yards on 5 gallons of fuel.

    Cold weather grass is easier to stripe than warm weather grass warm weather grass has to be trained to stripe come on down here and stripe some of this warm weather grass that never been stripe I think the hustler doing a good job compared to the kind of grass it’s working with and then it’s wet

  • @chrisrogers8760

    Hustlers 72" mower is more productive than this 104". Hustler claims 9.24 acres per hour on the 104", 9.31 on the 72". For the price of this machine, you could buy two 72" mowers and have twice the production. Not to mention the wings on that thing flopping around im sure gives you an uneven cut.

    • @jlsinc.136
      @jlsinc.136  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dont froget another 72" 14k? another operator 15hr? The 104" cut huge acreage accts. half time time of our 72 Exmark,check out little vid on the 72 X

    • @chrisrogers8760
      @chrisrogers8760 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't know where you live, but in Georgia, i haven't met to many contractors who pay $15 hr to operate a mower. We have toro/exmark, gravely, hustler, and grass hopper, and i have never seen a $14,000 rough cut mower on the floor. Highest price tag i ever seen for a rough cut mower would be around $12,500 which is half of what that 104" cost. If your cutting large properties, i'm sure your not gonna send one person to a job with this mower. Your already paying another person to be there, so if hustler claims twice the production out of two 72" mowers, why not have two mowers going? Additionally if one mower goes down, your not totally out of the game. Maybe i'm wrong for saying this, i don't have much experience cutting with rough cut mowers, most of what we use here are walker mowers. We bag everything, no clumps of grass left behind. I understand the fact that 104" is wider than 72", i don't understand why hustler claims why its not as productive unless its under powered and slower.

    • @jlsinc.136
      @jlsinc.136  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      On our big propeties we usually have 3-60 ,72, and that 104" a bagger ,4 whacker /blower dudes Each machine shine in its own spots ,nothing compares to the 104 in those open areas,the other machines up close around high traffic spots to make the kool desighns, works for us .Also we are in the upper midwest and thats what we pay our operators,if u can fill the seat lol

    • @MustangsTrainsMowers
      @MustangsTrainsMowers 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Back when I had my lawn service I recorded my time on bagging vs not bagging and it was double. Plus more equipment needed. Bagging should cost more than double in my opinion. It takes a while to add accounts with larger mostly open lawns, which is what I did. I didn’t like the blur of the day mowing 8+ small lawns so I focused only on 1 acre and up lawns. A mower that big could use a 45 to 50 horsepower engine. I’d also look into HDAP rear tires for better traction. That back lawn sure is bumpy.

    • @jamescopeland8813
      @jamescopeland8813 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup. Cut quality is shit, footprint is crazy heavy, maintenance points are through the roof. Toro and Lastec tested this years ago. If you're less than 10ft of cut width, you can't beat a 72" zero turn. That's why their 455 and 4100 series front mounts use 126" decks... and the after cut appearance still sucks.

    I think I'd rather just have 72 inch zero turns for big properties like the one in video. We do large gov housing contracts and use Tractors with 12 foot Batwing mowers, 60 inch zero turns.

      @@gleanerman2195 its like everything else bro, EPA, safety, lawsuits, etc. We run em 12 hours a day i think i know what i'm talkin about, you take that gay guard off that limits your string length, put 105 on it, run it an inch further than the guard would allow, pull the spark arrestor out of muffler discharge so the damm thing can breath, and wow what a difference. Plus you can actually see what the hell your doing, we use string trimmers to do all the edging with as well and i cant even imagine trying to edge with that guard on there. I pull mine off at the shop i deal with when i buy a new one and just leave it there, then pull the screen out of exaust before i ever even start it. Been doing that 32 years now....Roost

    • @Joshua79C
      @Joshua79C 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That grass looked like it was still a bit wet and thus why the deck looked messy, it sticks around a while until it eventually dries up, just takes a garden hosing to clean up for the most part, its going to get dirty again anyway even if you make it spotless. The self cleaning feature is what I like about some mowers with hose attachment.

    Its pretty ridiculous that thing don't have a DIESEL ENGINE! I would never buy it just for the simple fact it has a gasoline engine! I'll be a buyer when they get serious with some real torque! Just my farmers opinion. Other than that, this thing looks like a good machine, but count me out until they install a DIESEL!

    • @Joshua79C
      @Joshua79C 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As cheap as gas is, yes it has its downsides when it comes to certain big jobs. thus why you rarely see a gasoline powered semi let alone efficient gasoline sipping pickup or straight truck. Nothing beats the strength of a diesel except for electric traction motors.
