    I think the caliphate eclipsed Rome but that is just my opinion.

      @@zacka9438 The Caliphate included vast empty lands. Of course it spread faster with a mainly cavalry force. And their houses of wisdom were filled with Greek thought.

      @@aristocraticrebel the caliphate had about 60 million people doesn't really correspond with "vast empty lands" last time I checked cavalry were part of military warfare. And lastly it doesn't matter if it had Greek manuscripts all sciences are build upon existing knowledge.
