I keep hearing that bondings don't last. I have a 42 year old bond (1977) in the front of my mouth. It's slightly yellow, but still shiny, smooth and strong. And not really THAT yellow. My girlfriend's best friend is a dentist. The two of them are constantly nagging me to let her do a porcelain veneer. The rating on a veneer is only 10 years, and a modern bonding less than that?

I currently have braces on but my Peg laterals are smaller then the rest of my teeth. I wanted to do the bonding, but will I have to pay the full price every 3 years when they wear off?

I had Braces for 6 years, the old fashioned metal ones, my feet wouldn't move, after removal super sensitive, so another Dentist suggested Veneers, now I need them replaced
guess what? now i have to get CROWNS, so the $26,000 i spent years ago was a waste of Money, I SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAD BRACES THEY RUINED MY TEETH ALL a waste of MONEY.

      Hi Rosie,
We are sorry to hear you had a bad experience with another dentist. Orthodontic treatment is very successful when done well and with proper home care. We've treated numerous patients successfully with braces. Proper follow-up and home care are extremely important while you have your braces to get a good result. I hope that you find a dentist you can rely on and build a long-term relationship to maintain your smile healthy for years to come.

Rosie, again, sorry that you had such a bad experience. Since I don't know you I cannot comment on your specific case. I can just tell you that thousands of people get braces all around the world every year. It is an extremely predictable and safe treatment that can transform smiles. I wish you the bes of luck going forward and I hope you will find a dentist you can trust.
