Love it. Comanche was my first experience camping in the wilderness at 17. I’ve taken others there over 60 times since then. Never fished there but my nephew once caught a decent size trout with his bare hands right there by the camp.
Cornelius Walker Wow! I almost did the same, catch it with my bear hand. That place is kept wild for the longest time, thanks to the (very) rough road that make some folks think twice before going. And thank you for your input about this beautiful place.
Roman, it’s not that secret of a spot and it’s a little more difficult to reach than most folks want to trek too. But I’m always catch and release plus I always clean up others trash. Sometimes a few more people in a place can help clean it up a bit. 🤷🏼♂️

Happy Camper Thanks. Well, sometimes I go with friends that I met from years of backpacking. There’s a FB group that we have it’s called Southern California Hikers. From there members get to plan on their own trips. Are you local, maybe you can join us sometimes.
Ramon Rodriguez From I-15N in Fontana, exit at Sierra Ave then turn left. That part will become Lytle Creek Road. Drive for about 15 mins and you’ll see a road to your left. It’s the Middle Fork Road and kinda narrow road that’s leads you to the trail head of the same name. The camp from there is about 2.4 miles of beautiful chaparral and brushes.
There are three trail camps along this trail. Stonehouse, Third Stream Crossing (where we camped) and Comanche Camp. All these are designated campsites.
@@20robertang thanks! I’ve been wanting to go to Lytle creek for a couple years I just haven’t done it yet. I think I’m going to head up there this May. Those designated campsites are yellow pole sites I assume? First come first serve?
@@myotherlinefishing Yes, pretty bad ass place to camp. First come first serve. Make sure you check if the area is open for overnight.. Middle Fork trail is within San Bernardino National Forest and right now - the SBNF is still closed.
Ramon Rodriguez Thanks for checking out the video. That stool was from a FB site that I saw one time. I also saw it on IG. They call it Folding Chair Aluminum 7075. I think it was priced at $25.00.
Fornutnately none so far and I’m not looking forward of having any trouble. But to be sure, I leave my glove compartment open and empty including the one in between the driver and passenger and not leaving anything inside the vehicle.

My Son and I recently got dropped off at Middle Fork trailhead and stayed a night at comanche (we cleaned up the trail and one site before we left) before summiting Cucamonga, then hiking out to Baldy Village via Icehouse Canyon; thanks in part to watching your videos of the area. Next time, I just want to park, hit up 3 Stream Crossing...and check out the hidden waterfall.
@@20robertang that's wonderful I was where you was at one time it's where me and my two friends had are Sasquatch encounter we was there 3 night and someone came into our camp and started throwing are stuff around and we look threw the widow of the tent and the smell was very putrid like wet dog and something dead and we saw it in the moon light because it was a full moon at that time when we went in 9, 2018 the time of our encounter was 2:37am

Jim eats a lot, can’t blame him.. lol. Bacon and eggs and pancake combo is my fave for camp breakfast.

Is the waterfall right next to camp and easy to get to?
Yes, it is not that far.. like 5 minutes or so. Moving towards the camp, water fall is located on the right side before camp.

There’s a few, the three young bucks caught one with fly rod that same day.

Thanks, yeah, there are some. The kids (3 boys) caught one big trout and released it again.
