This might end up being one of the most life changing videos I've ever seen down the line, yet it's so casual. Thank you for this insight, it's going to be extremely useful I believe. And I guess thanks to youtube algorithm for showing me this video
What a good point. I have been thinking the same recently in regards to the availability of creative mediums (tik-tok primariliy) and the degradation of society. Previously fame came from the application of skills at a high level in various mediums. We looked up to and idolised(copyed) these figures and so they shaped societys character through their deeds (to a certain extent) Which neccistated a certain quality of output due to the life experiences and achievments neccesassry for success (hardwork, determination, skills etc) which in turn formed the space in which societal expectations incubated. Now due to the low bar for creativity, people with no talent are able to present as talanted (by assuming the position of fame and therefore competance and fitness) and drastically change the overton window in regards to societal norms, boundries expectations etc. through their position on societys pedestal. Essentially lowering society down to its lowest common denominators (usually more carnal behaviours we all share). At least from where im standing that seems to be the case.
I don't think creativity absent function is equal to corruption, but when I think about it there is a really strong correlation. But its not a causation. I think corruption requires that it facilitate outlets for peoples creativity otherwise it will be used to throw sand in the gears of that corruption. Its a good thought experiment though. What a question gets you to think about is more important than the validity of its premise some times.
I enjoy the way you put that
