I had an internal referral help me apply for an AWS tech U architect associate apprenticeship. I applied September 24 and my status changed to under consideration about 3 weeks ago. It still says that. I was wondering how long does this normally take? And do I have a chance of at least getting an interview? If you are curious about networking the CCNA is a great start, but most of it won't be used when you are using AWS. You would be better off using that time to learn more skills that surrounds serverless/developing/CI/CD stuff.
In the Tech U program we were encouraged to write blog articles, and as a solutions architect we contribute to “thought leadership” and one of the ways to do so is through blogs - but definitely not a compulsory part of the role 😊

Yep you get paid a full-time salary for the entire duration of the tech u program! You can do the program whilst being based in Melbourne - but if you wish to relocate, a relocation bonus will be provided for you
The total salary is 6 figures, and varies from year to year depending on the sign-on bonus and stocks. I’m not too sure what books since I mainly use video courses - but I recommend looking into Adrian Cantril’s SA certification course!

My application status changed from Application Submitted to Application Under Consideration in March. But in the job description mentioned program will start in september. This is just to confirm that in September the hiring process will start or the Early Career Program will start?
How long was your stint at Tech U and how much of it was in person vs virtual? How many hours per day/week did you spend at 'campus'? Where was your campus?
The Tech U program is 6 months “instructor led training” and 6 months “on the job training”. After that you continue working full time at AWS. We don’t really have “campuses” but I went to the AWS Sydney office a lot, around 3 days a week before lockdown and worked at home the other 2 days 😄

You will be doing the certs during tech u :)
The content in tech u will help you with certs, but you aren’t directly trained on passing the certs - may have to do additional study

Tech U is recommended for people with less than 2 years of industry experience, so I’d recommend applying directly to SA jobs 😄

Is it good to start with ccna as it teaches me networking required for cloud ? and then linux, AWS
I personally have not tried CCNA, but I believe it will definitely help with the networking aspects of AWS 😊
