Hoshikawa's accent is coming out stronger than her English introduction video and it's even cuter now ngl lol
Her pronunctiation is top notch though. You can tell she can actually speak fluently.
@@nicolaid99 Or you are just too stupid to see that fluency doesnt mean "speak like its your mother tongue". If you can keep a normal conversation, even with some hiccups, you are fluent. Hoshikawa is half British, she learned English since childhood. She can speak it.
@@yoursonisold8743 Or you can educate yourself before speaking next time. Fluency is recognised as the highest stage of language proficiency. My experience? Studying EL during school. Hoshikawa would not be considered fluent at her level, that's just the truth. So how about instead of defining your own metrics and strawmanning someone using it, get a brain and do some research.

Do your research yourself, you dimwit. "I learned a language in school" is not actual evidence.
Hoshikawa's English is rhotic though, it's clearly primarily from English instruction outside of England.

If anyone wonders how Hoshikawa ended up doing this stream: basically all goes back to december when the Nijisanji subreddit became official and many Nijisanji vtubers started to post introductions and more, but Hoshikawa took a while to be active until her english introduction.
After that she started to post more in english on twitter and r/Nijisanji, she confessed she's more comfortable with her english now, does some reddit posts asking for games and other things, she gets encouraged as she started to use english titles in her streams and now looks like this duolingo stream is the beginning of some english streams. She completed Duolingo and today she will play some horror game.

I immediately checked her channel and looks like she's embracing the english more now. Found her since her collab with Haato and been wondering why she hasn't use english much even tho she's really good at it, probably she was pretty nervous talking in english.
Seems like it’s a growing trend among Japanese Vtubers. It would make sense to try to connect more with the very large English vtuber audience if they want to grow.
All started because the niji subreddit went official, many livers post there, Sara does her english video and starts to post there asking for games and more stuff
Nijisanji has specific branches for other languages/countries like ID, KR and IN (which now went under the umbrella of EN). Hoshikawa specifically applied for Nijisanji JP, so my guess is she wanted to connect with the Japanese audience mostly. She has always reacted to English comments even a couple of months after her debut, though.
@@sakuraskye002 right? I've been personally thinking for a while, business speaking, she could be the "foundation" for Nijisanji to attract more EN speakers to watch the main branch with that EN skill, if she wanted to.

I kind of knew she could speak English, but I didn't realize she was that good. She's seriously downplaying herself. Should do it more often.
She is, Hoshikawa posted in the Nijisanji subreddit asking for games and choose a good selection from the suggestions, she said she will stream them (also she is using more english in the thumbnails and titles of her streams)
She kinda said she got good grade in english at school.grade A if i'm not mistaken in collab with kanae

It's kinda rude but Hoshikawa kinda don't mind it since she's really close with them. But even then people need to stop mentioning other streamers in her chat, this goes for all Vtubers since it is not only bothersome to the Vtuber you are watching but also the Vtuber you are mentioning.

Haven't watched Hoshikawa Sara in a long time and wasn't expecting her to have good pronunciation! How long has she been studying for?
She never studied it technically. She just lived in England until primary school before she moved to Japan. She still visits England every once in a while and speaks to her relatives in English.
