Way to many of our fans don't get what we're doing here. We are maybe not getting the biggest names, but if we get Lucas and Bruno we'll sign the perfect players for what we need. Not only that, but these two players could definitely even improve under Pep AND they know the league. Win win
This isn't Fifa and we're not a club who buys the most hyped and expensive players. We never were. Haaland and Jack are the exception, not the rule.

@@gruevlock24Paqueta is a versatile brazilian national team midfielder. He can cover multiple positions where we desperate need some creativity. He's solid in defence, tackles are top notch. And he's work ethic are great.
Bruno G is a great ball carrier and he's intelligent. He's a fighter and when we need someone to cover for Rodri he'll be able to step up immediately. Imo that's near perfection.

First of all there's been a paradigm shift poltically/financially within the PL changing the dial from profit & sustainability more to a salary cap. Practically self-interest.
Clubs want to reel in the likes of Chelsea, City, utd etc.
City's hands may be increasingly tied as to the amounts available for transfers & wages.
Thankfully City's main adversaries are Real Madrid & Barcelona who face no salary cap not Brighton & Brentford, who do.
This will handicap City.
City are getting expert at "Front-running" buying young players for themselves or for a third party e.g. City Group, simultaneously.
Not ruling out the occasional big spend but if the political/financial changes are voted on and passed then it's probably inevitable City will do more Front-running.

City need top talent like Jamal Musiala not Paqueta.
So what about a player to help Rodri in the midfield? Neither of the players is a Rodri like player. Therefore, why go for them
Bruno G can play both 6 and 8 roles. He can play alongside KDB or Foden, but can also fill in for Rodri if need be. And he plays both roles really well. Now Paqueta is a different story. He can play in the midfield as a number 10, but we ultimately want him to fill in for Bernardo on the right wing. He too can play both those roles really well. If you think about it, when we get both of them, it will be a serious squad rotation. Chances of getting fatigued will drop massively, because our players can get a lot more rest now. We are gonna be dangerous next season, I can't wait.
@phil13730 Rodri is a CDM, Bruno is a CM there is a reason why pep use Stones and Akanji alongside Rodri in the midfield. Bruno is a CM, but can he defend and win balls in the Midfield like Rodri? If I was looking for a player like or almost close to Rodri, I was looking at Kimmich or Onana
@marlonstanley3616 He does exactly that at Newcastle. That's why Pep wants him so bad. I agree Kimmich would also be a great option because, in addition to that, he could also play at right-back. But Onana? Come on. Keep him far away from City. He is not even delivering at a consistent rate for Everton. We will never take that gamble on him.
