      We wish you would sell 6 leg per side 13 x 22 foot model with much improved connectors. I can see that so many more want that since we do not drive 1.5 meter wide small cars in USA. If you are wise, you start a new parts program called Super DUTY your Carport. This is when you sell extra center, connector and leg sections with a manual on how to shorten the horizontal pieces to add additional rafters and legs but maintain the existing tarp length.

      Top rail from fencing, 1-3/8" OD, 17 gauge, it fits tight into the tubes for the carport, you bury 18" in the ground in 1/2 bag of concrete, leave 18 inches out then add some fasteners into them. Makes is super solid.

      @@grumpyjohntxredneckrc6346 yeah if you buy three you can take all the spare parts and make them all five legged which really makes them super strong and when the tarps wear out you can just put some 29 gauge metal on the tops make sure you use some proper straps and all that jazz and don't forget about using the fence top rail in the ground leave about a foot and a half out and that thing will never move

  • @Cjnchef
    @Cjnchef 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Looks like it could go over the trailer for a 2nd roof

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Using tube in tube mounting you can raise this by putting either 1-3/8 fence rail tube inside, or for heavier installs you can put the Quictents tubes into a 1-1/2" schedule 40 pipe in the ground. So mounting has options, just be sure to anchor well.

    Are you still OK with the harbor freight solar panels 100 W

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With a coupon yes. If you're referring to the four pack of 25 watt panels then yes they have a better charging in low light than any of the other panels made because they're amorphous. So what you end up getting is a longer charge cycle. Personally if I could afford to do it I would buy four sets, and that way I would make sure that my batteries woke up earlier and went to bed later at night before they lost some charge.
      It doesn't seem like a lot or wouldn't mean much to most people but a lot is a what in the longer you can keep an incoming charge against your draw the longer your batteries themselves will live. And that's where the real money is at.

    How many years will that tarp last? Any experience on how frequently they need replacement?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They say 3 to 4 years. Replacements are not very expensive either, but mine will get 5 of the 3 x 21 foot sections of 29 gauge metal put on it when needed. That will be roof plus 15 inches down the sides connecting everything well. I already ordered the 2 extra legs, 3 extra fittings and 3 extra rafters. One rafter to be cut to make the missing 5 spanner. I will cut about 1.5 feet off each spanner, add one, then reassemble to make it a 5 leg on each side then roof it with light metal and still be a 10 x 20.

      A friend of mine purchased one of these a few years ago to cover his classic car. It lasted 1 season before the elements destroyed it. Tarp was in shreds and the entire structure collapsed. Was supposed to be top quality, most likely wasn't this brand but looks very similar.

      The battle of raising them still includes helping them avoid the pitfalls of a WOKE and Entitled society. Luckily 2 want to stay right here on the land, and 2 want to stay close to it. Where I am, my area and 50 miles in every direction don't play well with the big city think, crazy lefties, or woke insanity.

      We ordered extra tube and fittings and made ours 5 legs on each side, and using another 22mil fiber laden 12 x 22 tarp on it over the one that came with it. The main tubes are now filled with 1-3/8 fence rail 4 feet above ground, and 18" in concrete in ground. I can walk on it! We had a massive storm with 79 mph wind gust, its still here.
      But as sold, none can handle the weather!
