    Hi @MattTalkTech I would really love to see later videos we’re you’re talking about the products you recommend to get. And maybe a video about your desk setup. Also it would be cool to make a video how you think a feature product would help with. For example: I think that the apple ring will be a device ho could trade the precise location of your finger, making it possible to move things on devices without touching the screen. It would then also be a perfect product for the Apple Vision Pro in my opinion.

    please refer to geekerwan cpu and gpu efficiency curves
    3:25 no the improvements comes from microarchitectural changes in the cores itself and more cache they have been using 8 cores since ages
    however an induvidual core on the a18p is still more efficient but since they only use 6 cores and qc uses 8 they can just run each core a lower frequency which is more efficient because the voltage-frequency curve is not linear

    The problem with the Apple A series chips is that they had a pro that optimized their chips. Since they lost him, the only fix Apple has was more cores and smaller processes. They have not actually made any meaningful changes to the processor cores since their designer left. Of course Apple could toss in a couple more performance corres and a half dozen efficiency cores and blow the competition away, but it's not making the cores any better.
    Course, the Qualcom processor might have active cooling in their benchmarks, like Microsoft did with the CoPilot laptops. And when they talk about the better power savings, what is that compared to? 45% power efficiency compared to what?

    All the alleged performance gains can be achieved by reducing the die size of the chips. Apple are not actually behind in any way because making chips smaller is technically possible and automatically gives power consumption and performance gains. The main consideration is chip yield per wafer and how much they need to charge to maintain the same profit margins. Performance only needs to be good enough to satisfy the target user market while giving the best return on any investment in developing any new chips.

    I like that the chips are getting significantly better. I think this past year is going to cause Apple to innovate and stop lagging with updates. Apple is too focused on giving people a reason to buy each year over continuously pushing out tech advancements. Apple delays updates to give people a reason to update the following year and I think that lag is starting to get to them. At this point, they need to put it all out on the table before they end up like Black Berry.

Even if turn out to be say 30-35% instead, it does mean that it is ahead of apple. Apple need to be showing the lead in raw performance on everything not catching up no matter if it means more cores or less.

    THE only real driver is chip fab, if Snapdragon and Intel are on the same generation then they will perform about the same, Apple had 5nm to themselves for a few years as there as their contractor TSMC was way ahead of everyone else, The physical engineering to make this stuff is the most complicated humans have ever achieved by a good way, and every small incremental improvement requires a massive leap in the craft.
    we are back to the Intel days were Apple will not be able to use speed and efficiency as a differentiator. Personally I would like they invest in improving the accessibility and user experience of there OS's too much is buried and difficult to discover, seniors in particular struggle with IOS

    🤔 What is stopping Apple from making the M1 chip into the new A19?

      @@MattTalkTech True, maybe if Apple decides to unify their Phones, Tablets and Macs with the M Silicon

      @@StudioKelpie1993 Well as I said in this video, technically the A18 and A18 pro is a mini version of the M4. We get 4x efficency cores and 2x performance cores (6 total) in A18 and A18 Pro. The cores are very similar to the M4 except it is 9 to 10 cores. It is just less of thes same cores as iPhone has a smaller battery as it is a smaller device

      @shaunbutler238 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      They should have put the M1 into the Mini. I am looking for a cellular tablet, and the lack of split screen ability in the mini cost them a sale.

    • @MattTalkTech
      @MattTalkTech  20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      Never will happen! Your battery life would be about 1/3 it is now. M series are a bigger chip so would take more space inside phone. So the battery would have to be smaller. Then with the extra cores in the M series, this would drain your battery even more. It is why the iPad Mini does not have the M inside of it, as the battery life would be awful!

    I think biggest advantage Apple has their ios and macOS and echo system within same. Chip wise A18 PRO is also good enough for today standard and things will improve overtime. For consumers prospective Snapdragon is not doing anything revolutionary in terms of day to day usage’s. But I appreciate Qualcomm with help of EX apple employees they achieved this and created competition.

      I did think the same... With Android with loads of layers down to the CPU and then manufactors having their skins and layers on top too, do you really get that full power potential

    • @christianr.5868
      @christianr.5868 21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      And you can’t use that CPU for very much.. only android has high end emulators easily available
