    I have a 250 4×4 it smokes little, and oil can is removed so mix oil into gas tank.

    I love to see older machines running around! way less money than new and just as much fun.

    If you're using the oil injector oil injector might have broken that's reason why I started smoking so bad it's probably because oil injector started working again

      Starter fluid. Will ruin your engine that stuff if for diesel engines in winter time you have carb problems I'd say.

    His 250 probably slipped the timing chain. You should check it.

    Probably would have been good to just pre mix the fuel and disconnect the oil injection. All that oil is fouling the plugs . I had a 2wd 300 two stroke electric start years ago

    Damn, sorry about the rough day. What ended up being the problem with your buddy's 250 trail boss? Those were the ones that were around 35hp before they detuned that motor and made the current "trail blazer". His looks like a very clean one. I almost wonder if the oil pump was hosed and started pumping way too much oil in it.

    I know this videos old but I would have looked at it when the smoke just started instead of going further away from your truck and then looking at it.

    Nice video! Unfortunately some days just dont go like you would have hoped. On the Polaris, it seemed like it was either flooding or mixed too heavy with oil. Do you think the engine is hurt or just carb problems? I just rebuilt a 300 polaris 2-stroke. The good thing is they are pretty cheap to buy parts for.

    • @xhumeka
      @xhumeka  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +CumminsDriver635 it's hard to see on camera, but there was a LOT of smoke at the end - white smelly smoke... the piston isn't seized, but it must have over heated bigtime and did some damage. I think the rings are melted or something lol. I'm pretty sure the fuel mixture was correct, I think it had carb problems and was flooding, and then he ran it in low gear full throttle on a flat road for too long.

    • @CumminsDriver
      @CumminsDriver 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +xhumeka I think id do a compression check before tearing it down. Running low gear and high RPM's for a long time may have overheated it like you said though. haha Ive heard that if they are getting too much gas they will smoke a whole lot which Is why I wondered about carb issues. They typically wont restart once the compression gets down too low. I didnt figure his should have any big issues since it looks to have had so little run time. Im interested to know what you find out.

    the 250R/ES was known for the oil injector failing, I had a 2wd one that had the same issue. eventually it would overheat and i'd have to idle it cool for like 10 minutes before shutting it off to cool so it wouldnt seize. but one day I was just fed up, shut it off, walked away and that was the end of it. It was a pain in the ass of a machine but it was quick and I had my fun. now I finally got another one in the form of a rolling chassis and a tote of parts lol ;) hoping to build something nice out of it.

      I just bought a 2003 polaris with a 350 2 stroke. I got it non running, it has oil injection too. The thing has good compression and I don't think its a top or bottom end problem. I just went through the carb and cleaned it up. I bolted it back on and put gas in it. It started leaking gas out of the top of the carb like where the fuel is supposed to come out. Despite this I pulled it over and it would pop off every time but not stay running. It will start on full throttle and run for 4 seconds or so but its way bogged down. I just can't figure out why it's leaking fuel. I took it back apart and bent the float stops slightly and it quit leaking fuel but wouldn't start. I don't know what to do right now but another problem is I don't know how the vacuum lines are supposed to go. It was missing some when I got it so I have no idea where they run. I have no idea how to actually tune those carbs either. I have done a lot of small engine work but this is my first big 2 stroke/atv. If you have any ideas on how to fix it I would much appreciate it. I don't think spark is a problem either because it runs great on starter fluid, its not shotty at all. And just so I'm clear all I did was clean the carb I didn't actually replace anything. Any way whatever advice I can get will help. Thanks
