my mum passed away around christmas almost 9 years ago, it took a long time to get to where i am with my grief, but it's literally just doing what you can manage, when you feel like you can manage it :) like, we didn't do proper christmas meal (full roast) for years because that was her thing, so we adapted, we honour her every holiday that we can and do our best to remember her

For Christmas in my experience... Be with people but have a place you can go nearby to be alone. Have your comforts around you and when you have had enough of festivities go lay down and be calm by yourself. Sometimes it feels like you are putting on an act for everyone and its exhausting so make sure you can retreat but not so you are 100% alone x

Your relationship reminds me a lot of myself and my husband (and it reminds me how lucky I am and to treasure every day with him even more). Aside from that, you seem to have some similar taste in books to me and I also love gigs, charity shopping, travelling and so on, so I’m looking forward to getting to know YOU as a person a bit more. It’s taken a while but I’m so glad that I’m finally back! Or at least that I’m going to try to be!
