Good morning from Kentucky! I woke up to a bit of snow this morning! Brrr! My mom used to use a product called, Zip Strip. It was back in the 70's and it would just peel right off with a putty knife. Products back then were a lot better, in my opinion.

I once had a house that was green and the front door was eggplant, I loved it, and remembered that a couple of times in my life I’ve had olive colored pants and tops that either had purple in them or were purple. Kudos to you and your sister for having such good taste.

Anytime we got more than 3 we were certified COLLECTORS. I have 3 sons (plus 6 daughters), 3dogs, brass/copper /wrought Iron/candlesticks/harps(7)/Books/dolls/states/chandeliers/sconces/frames/paintings/oriental rugs/etc. I’m downsizing 4000sq ft and you would have an 18 wheeler carry out my treasures. Everything works here because I worked thrifting, reworking, refining, redesigning to duplicate European Elegance on a dollar budget. Nostalgic watching you. Everything turned out so pretty. Your home will truly reflect you I think people follow trends and eventually everyone’s home looks the same. I had so many of the things you thrifted but when I downsized I got rid of them. I had that cream colored metal wall basket for years. I painted it so many times. It’s great for wall decor in almost every room. The bread box turned out great
I love all the wall sconces and candle holders you found.. I collect the same style and look as yours. I would have snatched them up at that thrift store if you hadn't! That grey/ brown color is also called Griege (grey + beige). But yours is a little darker.
Love the lavender! I am 67 yrs old. When I was a small child my favorite aunt had a lavender guest bedroom I thought was so beautiful. All these years later and I have never forgotten that beautiful room.

I was glued to this video start to finish. I have said it before and I will keep saying it, you are magic with paint. I love your approach and how you keep finessseing a piece until you have it the way you like. My favorite item from your haul is the gilded candlestick. It is perfect as is in my opinion. As far as " outdated", what is outdated, anyway? Once you find a style you enjoy, run with it. My favorite makeover is the candleholder painted lavender. Love it!!

Wow the final result is beautiful didn’t know where you were going with the bread box. I just thrifted a beautiful bread box and did the Easy Off Oven cleaning method and it turned out beautiful. The feet you added to the box is a great idea. I maybe adding feet to mine! Love all the colors how they’re coming together!

Hello, Great finds, I love them all but the large 3 dollar sconce and metal flower wall holder were a favorite. I can relax when you paint it is a gift your style pf painting. I have a bunch of the same wall sconces (the second ones) and the wall pocket/planters. They are very Hollywood Regency and I love them! I'm always on the lookout for more because they are gorgeous spray painted to match my decor; my favorite bring a glossy, creamy white. They also look really nice when they are painted and distressed. There are small shelves that match the wall pockets and I have a large collection of those as well.

when you say something is out of style, I always think, there is the kind of style that comes and goes, like the 80's desert colors and Florida color/decor....but I consider my style an English country house/thrift/found objects, things I love....I was happy the farmhouse came in style, I have beautiful granite ware all over my kitchen, since the 90's, and it will stay there even if the farmhouse goes out....like you and your french country, our styles can be added to, the things that may be "in" for the moment, but we can make them work....I like looking at what is "in", but I live with what I love....and I may sound overly arrogant, but I love the way my house looks...my problem is I can't bring anything in (new/old-new to me,) because of the limited space....I made a rule so not to turn into a hoarder, I have to give up one object for one I add...if it is kitchen then it is a kitchen object..and so forth....since I love what I have already, I have to sadly leave a lot of things....I do pack away and make room that way but again the space is full....
This was my first time to watch a vid of yours. I love what you did here, especially the bread box but the other items as well. I decorate with some of the same touches though mixed in with others changes it to be my own sanctuary, the place that affirms me, mirrors my personality quirks & assures me I am complete as I am. Looking forward to seeing other vids.

I have my foyer, dining and living rooms with the purple palette and lavender drapes in the dining room with all gold accents and silver entertaining pieces. It is so beautiful! I absolutely love it. Purples are so over looked. Everyone that comes over loves it. I'm now Changing my kitchen from dark red & purples wallpaper, it was rich but I want it brighter and cheery changing to simply white with greens and purples. I can't wait to see your guest room finished. Those curtains are perfect very pretty.

There are subtle purple colors in my inspiration painting. When I found those curtains, I decided the small amounts of lavender and greens would be nice in the guest room. I just purchased lots of accent pieces and a piece of furniture to finish up the room. And I painted the black cabinet in a new color. Can't wait to share the finished look! Omg that darker green is the same color my Mom painted her dining room in 1974. Beautiful!!! My Mom was way ahead in decorating. She had a great eye.
I love how it looks with the lavender colors. I liked everything you got from the haul that one piece, in particular, it was white looked like a tin of some sort. Your ideas are so beautiful.

Adore the bread box and candlestick makeover. The added feet make the bread box feel more elegant and special! And I completely agree about all the Syroco (sp?) pieces, I have so many and can't stop buying more! They are beautiful and add a lovely, vintage, French style to any room. I was very surprised at the final result of the items today because I did not comprehend how you were going to use these lovely colours. Wow the final result is beautiful didn’t know where you were going with the bread box. I just thrifted a beautiful bread box and did the Easy Off Oven cleaning method and it turned out beautiful. The feet you added to the box is a great idea. I maybe adding feet to mine! Love all the colors how they’re coming together!

I have a bunch of the same wall sconces (the second ones) and the wall pocket/planters. They are very Hollywood Regency and I love them! I'm always on the lookout for more because they are gorgeous spray painted to match my decor; my favorite bring a glossy, creamy white. They also look really nice when they are painted and distressed. There are small shelves that match the wall pockets and I have a large collection of those as well.

when you say something is out of style, I always think, there is the kind of style that comes and goes, like the 80's desert colors and Florida color/decor....but I consider my style an English country house/thrift/found objects, things I love....I was happy the farmhouse came in style, I have beautiful granite ware all over my kitchen, since the 90's, and it will stay there even if the farmhouse goes out....like you and your french country, our styles can be added to, the things that may be "in" for the moment, but we can make them work....I like looking at what is "in", but I live with what I love....and I may sound overly arrogant, but I love the way my house looks...my problem is I can't bring anything in (new/old-new to me,) because of the limited space....I made a rule so not to turn into a hoarder, I have to give up one object for one I add...if it is kitchen then it is a kitchen object..and so forth....since I love what I have already, I have to sadly leave a lot of things....I do pack away and make room that way but again the space is full....
I love watching your process and seeing how beautiful everything turns out.
This was my first time to watch a vid of yours. I love what you did here, especially the bread box but the other items as well. I decorate with some of the same touches though mixed in with others changes it to be my own sanctuary, the place that affirms me, mirrors my personality quirks & assures me I am complete as I am. Looking forward to seeing other vids.

Great video! Love the paint colors you chose! Also love the curtains! Once you put that all together you will love it! I have my foyer, dining and living rooms with the purple palette and lavender drapes in the dining room with all gold accents and silver entertaining pieces. It is so beautiful! I absolutely love it. Purples are so over looked. Everyone that comes over loves it. I'm now Changing my kitchen from dark red & purples wallpaper, it was rich but I want it brighter and cheery changing to simply white with greens and purples. I can't wait to see your guest room finished. Those curtains are perfect very pretty.

There are subtle purple colors in my inspiration painting. When I found those curtains, I decided the small amounts of lavender and greens would be nice in the guest room. I just purchased lots of accent pieces and a piece of furniture to finish up the room. And I painted the black cabinet in a new color. Can't wait to share the finished look!
