About 30 minutes ago, an extremely random TIKTOK (of all things) showed a short clip of this man's "to be or not to be" that immediately affected me in a way I have never experienced before. Those words are some of the most famous in history and for the very first time, I understood -even empathized -with a character I didn't even realize I had almost NO REAL understanding of, until RIGHT THEN. In the 30 minutes since I have devoured a few clips and realized this; This man could read a journal entry of mine, one side of text convos I have been in, maybe even my inner dialogue.... And he would be able to help me understand MY OWN THOUGHT by doing so. I am a mom in my 40's, no serious critic of anything at all, I have no way to back up my claims with any kind of specialty, but this person is the greatest actor I have ever seen. I didn't realize how much I listen to of dialogue that is almost ignored bc EVERY word he says makes me feel like he only thought of it just a moment ago.
I love listening to the way he speaks. When he ends a word that ends with a "t" or a "d" he does it so softly. I live for that. That musical pattern of speech is my sexuality.
He always speaks with the lineup like a real speaker . For example, he says something very lively, and then stops and says the last word loudly and clearly. he has a very rumpled voice ( I’m not sure that I stated my point correctly)
I always feel like he's talking directly to me and me alone and is so utterly convincing - if the room was on fire and he looked me in the eyes and told me everything was going to be okay, I'd believe him. What an amazing talent. This brought tears to my eyes.

I've been trying to go with choice 5 during the last year (started waking up really early, started going to the gym, changed my diet routines completely, started pursuing other projects and interests outside university) and believe me, it's hard. The world around you doesn't understand choice 5. People will question why you're doing it, in a confused way, they'll tell you to not do it for whatever reasons . Like the text says, it's a lonely path. You'll meet maybe 2-3 people in a hundred that understand it. The rest is stuck in choice 2, choice 4 and the others because it's so very easy to stay there. Choice five isn't feeling hopeless and not knowing what to do. Choice five is being open and searching for something to do that truly makes you expand your current consciousness. It should not come with hopelessness but rather frustration because you never know if what you're doing is right for you while at the same time open to the possibility that maybe it is.

In the education system and human society, there are distinct lines drawn between science and the arts, but in truth the lines don't exist in the universe. Especially with the coming of knowledge about quantum physics and emerging fields of groundbreaking theories, the world begins to seem more undefinable as we discover more of it in a lifetime.

I already chose number 5 since a long time back 😅 I chose number 5 not knowing what it is until I saw this. 2 years back I came across some great speaker, he taught me many things. I just fell in love with the entire concept of it. I began to shift and I started becoming less comfortable with certain things I used to do. I just felt this agitation when I got into something. Whenever someone contradicted some concept I thought of, I accepted the fact of it. I didn’t deny it.

When you haven't even graduated yet and you're already doing choice five ever since you can remember. On the other hand, Andrew is so brilliant at this, and his eyes speaks so much more that it captures you more than his words.
Choosing 5 simply means for some reason you've embarked into a journey of knowledge knowing it is impossible for humans to reach the end goal; ultimate knowledge. Your motivations may vary: maybe you're afraid of the unknown, maybe your curiosity gets the better of you, maybe you just feel you want to be different. If it's the latter, you probably are option 5 along with other option. Choosing 5, means understanding that this is a game, that your ego is an artificial creation of your experiences, that your reality and that of others is molded everyday. Choosing 5 is a choice of realizing that you're not your past, nor your future, but the process of finding the truth to improve your life and that of other, or not. Choosing 5 is realizing that you're capable of being as evil as someone like Hitler and capable of being as empathic as Mother Teresa at the same time. Choosing 5 is being able to choose option1, 2, 3, 4 and realize they all hold as much meaning. Choosing 5 is hell and heaven.

I tried everything to conform and it brought me heartache, misery, and loss. I am retired and reading James Joyce's Ulysses and learning to speak Russian. It's time consuming.
I was like "yeah i'm definitely 1, but let's hear the rest", then he read 5 and i just laughed from surprise. No one ever recognised AND described my personality so well. Like, i don't believe in horoscope but i now know how people feel when they read it and somehow it describes them so accurately. And the fact that someone like Edith Sampson is interested in my mind gives me a lot of confidence. It's true that you are never confortable as 5. Everyone is your enemy AND your ally. I myself am a very calm person, i am incapable of hate because all i want is to understand people's thoughts behind their actions, and try to convince them to change if their actions are harmful to others (i'd say the only time i feel sad or dissapointed is when i fail to do that, but even then i just need to do better). It's true this makes life very exciting, so much as i truely believe i could live forever and never get tired of it. But i also never truly rest, my mind is constantly running, replaying past scenarios and conversations to try and understand people better (i even dream about them usually). Though that might just be ADD or something idk i'm watching this video on new year's eve and i'm slightly drunk, happy 2021 everyone!

I'm in the last year of my PhD, which is at the end (hopefully) of years of formal education throughout my life. I always think being a student is my... Hmm let say favorite or convenient 'occupation' as the real world outside academia seems too contrived for me. This is a legitimate a question, what is next? Knowing my self, fifth choice is the ideal I'd make. But tbh, so many distractions. I do not think I've chosen the 5th, but, I guess, I am living it. I've always been trying to do what's "right' and "best", but most of the time it blew up in my face, separating me from people (to put it mildly), with other times not bringing much of a satisfaction from actually achieving something. And it's not perfectionism or idealism, but rather realization how minuscule and average I really am, but still burning and hurting for others, for those "right" and "best". It becomes a whirlpool of depression and mania akin to bipolar disorder, but not quite there yet, because it's not really chemical. Myriads of ideas and "what ifs" suffocating you at one moment, but then empowering you into hyperventilation, as if you won't be fast enough to inhale all the air around you. Mind racing, urging you to "do" with the crackle of your synapses and then stopping you midway by the mental sound of cracking bones. Or not mental one. And then you heal a bit and try to blend in to recuperate, but the agonizing "what ifs" resurface again: what if I do this? What if I do it like that? This could work. Let's try. And then you fly up to your own mental peak again forgetting, that at certain heights there is little to no oxygen and you suffocate and fall down. Again. No comfort, indeed. How can there be, when you break yourself over and over of your own volition, dragging yourself forward with no actual goal, since there can't actually be one, because once achieved, it will not go away, it will simply transform?

I chose number 5 not knowing what it is until I saw this. 2 years back I came across some great speaker, he taught me many things. I just fell in love with the entire concept of it.
I began to shift and I started becoming less comfortable with certain things I used to do. I just felt this agitation when I got into something.
Whenever someone contradicted some concept I thought of, I accepted the fact of it. I didn’t deny it.
whenever I think it doesn’t matter what I am doing and that I can’t change anything, I watch this, and thank you Andrew, I feel a bit motivated again to strive for the best I can do.

Choosing 5 simply means for some reason you've embarked into a journey of knowledge knowing it is impossible for humans to reach the end goal; ultimate knowledge. Your motivations may vary: maybe you're afraid of the unknown, maybe your curiosity gets the better of you, maybe you just feel you want to be different. If it's the latter, you probably are option 5 along with other option.
Choosing 5, means understanding that this is a game, that your ego is an artificial creation of your experiences, that your reality and that of others is molded everyday.
Choosing 5 is a choice of realizing that you're not your past, nor your future, but the process of finding the truth to improve your life and that of other, or not.
Choosing 5 is realizing that you're capable of being as evil as someone like Hitler and capable of being as empathic as Mother Teresa at the same time.
Choosing 5 is being able to choose option1, 2, 3, 4 and realize they all hold as much meaning.
Choosing 5 is hell and heaven.

This video literally changed my life.
I was like "yeah i'm definitely 1, but let's hear the rest", then he read 5 and i just laughed from surprise. No one ever recognised AND described my personality so well. Like, i don't believe in horoscope but i now know how people feel when they read it and somehow it describes them so accurately. And the fact that someone like Edith Sampson is interested in my mind gives me a lot of confidence. It's true that you are never confortable as 5. Everyone is your enemy AND your ally. I myself am a very calm person, i am incapable of hate because all i want is to understand people's thoughts behind their actions, and try to convince them to change if their actions are harmful to others (i'd say the only time i feel sad or dissapointed is when i fail to do that, but even then i just need to do better). It's true this makes life very exciting, so much as i truely believe i could live forever and never get tired of it. But i also never truly rest, my mind is constantly running, replaying past scenarios and conversations to try and understand people better (i even dream about them usually). Though that might just be ADD or something idk i'm watching this video on new year's eve and i'm slightly drunk, happy 2021 everyone!

I'm in the last year of my PhD, which is at the end (hopefully) of years of formal education throughout my life. I always think being a student is my... Hmm let say favorite or convenient 'occupation' as the real world outside academia seems too contrived for me. This is a legitimate a question, what is next? Knowing my self, fifth choice is the ideal I'd make. But tbh, so many distractions. I don't mind being restless, fulfilling curiosity is one of the things that makes me high, much better than money, success, or power. Thank you Andrew Scott, for delivering this enigma beautifully.
I was so focussed on living my life like the 3rd category. Then i realized, when i couldn't get the practical speciality that i wanted i didn't have any value. I don't care much about the other people's thoughts but when the hate and devaluation came from within, it burns and takes everything down with it.

choose life more like choose FIVE !! started getting the annoying goosebumps at choice one and they persisted all the way throughout. so, so good. a beautiful reading of an incredible speech.
I do not think I've chosen the 5th, but, I guess, I am living it. I've always been trying to do what's "right' and "best", but most of the time it blew up in my face, separating me from people (to put it mildly), with other times not bringing much of a satisfaction from actually achieving something. And it's not perfectionism or idealism, but rather realization how minuscule and average I really am, but still burning and hurting for others, for those "right" and "best". It becomes a whirlpool of depression and mania akin to bipolar disorder, but not quite there yet, because it's not really chemical. Myriads of ideas and "what ifs" suffocating you at one moment, but then empowering you into hyperventilation, as if you won't be fast enough to inhale all the air around you. Mind racing, urging you to "do" with the crackle of your synapses and then stopping you midway by the mental sound of cracking bones. Or not mental one. And then you heal a bit and try to blend in to recuperate, but the agonizing "what ifs" resurface again: what if I do this? What if I do it like that? This could work. Let's try. And then you fly up to your own mental peak again forgetting, that at certain heights there is little to no oxygen and you suffocate and fall down. Again. No comfort, indeed. How can there be, when you break yourself over and over of your own volition, dragging yourself forward with no actual goal, since there can't actually be one, because once achieved, it will not go away, it will simply transform?
