This is one of the most beautiful songs Tuomas has ever written...plain and simple. Floor is impeccable, as always.

You are not the only one obsessed with this song! This song just hits me in the heart every time I listen to it! We should always let our friends, relatives, siblings, know how precious they are to us!

Queen Floor slays again with a so emotional , sad but optimistic song in the end. Troy is so supportive back vocalist. Tuomas plays the piano like a master. The orchestra arrangement is so fantastic. Congrats to mr. James Shearman , the orchestral arranger of the album, and to London Philharmonic for the performance of the tracks. And to the choir guys and girls, so beautiful and epic . Sublime song and album.

    Lanternlight is breathtakingly gorgeous ❣️
Not able to listen to this with dry eyes, it goes straight to your soul. It’s so fragile and strong at the same time.
What a gorgeous piece of music composed by Tuomas and so emotionally sung by Floor.
Tuomas said that Lanternlight is a song of love to celebrate live of the people that passed. In this case mainly his dad I guess.

The album starts with the projector starting up...into the title track, Yesterwynde, which is the last word in this song...

Hi fellow-auti, you got it quickly.
You must have been told already, Tuomas wrote this in memory of his father.
    Starting deep and low...
This sounds like her solo album,
I think Tuomas likes the variety of her singing.
Floor said that she chokes up too easily with this song,
the band rewinds, during the sessions, to let her recover.
Mmm, the warmth of her voice.
“Last night brought the heaviest of snows”
That sad piano about to sink below the ice.
    “Melting the songs of old”
Reminiscences, love of the souls that have gone before.
Tuomas wrote this in memory of his father.
    The pocket watch to wind...
The old style film projector, a “Magic Lantern”.
The old flickering movies, like memories.
    Floor soaring away.
Celebration of their lives, rather than mourning.
Did you get the Tuomas déjà vu references?
“I am the snow on your palm” [Storytime?]
“I am the secret stream” [Sagan, Shudder Before The Beautiful, Endlessness?]
“Moss beneath your feet” [My Walden?]
“I am you who climbed off of my back” [Our Decades in the Sun?]
“Petrichor” (with a hint of green) [The smell of fresh rain on grass, Last Ride Of The Day, Song of Myself?]
“Timeless” (with a hint of a smile) [Perfume of the Timeless?]
“To the meadows I go” [Meadows of Heaven?]
Then Troy drifts in, with his soft voice, he made up the word,
so his pronunciation, is our guide, _right at the end_ of the album. :)
That looked like Pope Leo Xlll, who served until his death in 1903 at the age of 93.

I would like to note that Floor recorded this (and the rest of the album) about 6 weeks after giving birth.

Tuomas has said this song is about the passing of his father.

You feel it because she does. In her interview Floor says she cries when this song starts. And she recorded this entire album 6 weeks after giving birth which is insane.

From what I understand this was the first song Tuomas wrote after the passing of his father in 2021. For my take on it the lanternlight equates to the people we meet and who changes out path in one way or another

In this song Floor sounds like a wild lion humming a beautiful melody. But you are always aware it is a lion, who could take one breath and ROAR !

Late night home repair? That last augmented mysterious melody is beautifully presented and leaves us wondering.
