Definitely of my all time favourites. Tarja shows her mastery here like no other. I only wish she brings it back one day with full orchestra like with Beauty of the Beast.

James, on April 13, 2015 I saw Nightwish in Quebec City. Their new singer Floor Jansen sang two old Tarja songs Stargazers and Sleeping Sun. It was fantastic. Annette could not have pulled this off. She was too lightweight for this band. Floor is an amazing singer. Check them out now.

I see a story full of lore and deep crazy characters with this song. All of nightwish has that rich musical texture since their founding to their newest material.
Intro is almost the same of a sega master system game called Y's and the music were playing in the game while fighting with a kind of ghost :) I guess Tuomas took inspiration from that game :))

At this level no one can duplicate another singers performance. They can do a good or even great job on a song but Tarja and Floor are unique. Their voices are different and cannot be the same.
Lauren Kerridge I believe she might, barely. Floor has a great vocal range, while Tarja is all about high notes. I believe Floor could hit the heights, but I doubt she could hold them for a period Tarja can. Tarja's voice, on the other hand, couldn't sink as low as Floor's, and I believe her attempts at growls would be either laughable or just outright pathetic, where Floor is just awesome :D The first albums, though, were written exactly for Tarja's voice, and any singer that is not a soprano (operatic trained) would have, at best, a difficult task. I wish the guys would let Floor test her skills in these, but knowing the grudge that Tuomas holds for Tarja, I believe he would stay far from them. Or, he would instruct Floor to change the height/melody/pitch of singing. Ah, well, we might never know, or we might be pleasantly surprised one day. Hopefully, Tuomas won't have a crush again, or Floor might reciprocate. Otherwise we might get another Anette *shudders*...

I personally think the 2 albums they bought out with her were some of their best work! I'm sooo happy Floor is in the band now though because she's one of my favourite singers :D Also, Anette had about a week or so of operatic training and she sounded so good already in one performance (outside of Nightwish, not sure if you've seen it or not). So, if Tuomas was to have given her a year or more of training she could have sounded even better!
James Jonson songs are written for the performer. You don't have to be able to do some song as good as someone song was written for to be a good singer. There are excellent songs written for Anette or Floor and Tarja won't be able to sing them equally good.

Tarja was just the (beautiful) label, but Tuomas was and is the content. After relabeling twice it's more clear than ever.
