This fixed my Key Fob on my 2010 passat B6. I cleaned the contacts on the unlock button, put it back together (which was really difficult without a smaller pair of tweezers to fold the metal clips back on) and it started working again. Thank you for showing me how to do this without breaking it!
Thank you for this video - it confirmed my suspicions that it was my fob that was faulty and not the car. I disassembled the fob as per your example but found that a squirt with WD40 was sufficient to clean the dirty unlock button on the pcb. I have not glued everything back together in case I have to do the job again but everything still works fine. Again - thank you.
I had the issue on my VW Scirocco 2009 of not unlocking on the remote while the lock and boot unlock button was still working and i fixed it by taking the battery out of the remote and connecting the +ve and -ve connections together on the circuit board for a few seconds with a screwdriver (to remove residual energy) and putting it back together. And i was surprised but it fixed the unlock issue. I read this method on a forum.

it was already enough to change the battery in the original key, because the red light does not come on (in the first opening / closing test), often when this is the case, one of the buttons on the remote control doesn't work, it often happens on VW keys
It was very skillfull . I have a quick question ! My fob was not unlocking the car same one but later I changed battery and it worked the next day the lock and unlock were not working but there was led on fob , so I think it might be my car receiver s problem? Whet you say ?
Its Valeo shtt, when Bosch was making parts for VAG there was no problems with the key. Unlock button stops working and needs replacing. New microswitch will last maybe a year . Required tactile switch 4 x 4 x 1.5 SMD. No point in glueing you will be doing it again.
