I actually visited Rakaia gorge today because of you and what a brilliant suggestion, Sir!
Amazing. The drive was just too good and the trek was also fairly easy. I didn't do the whole thing as I was tired, but I am going to recommend your channel to everyone even thinking about New Zealand. Your walkthrough of the routes is very intuitive to me

Hello Michael, have to admit that you put out some amazing content 👍🏻I have a 18 days south starting April 1. My interest is in capturing amazing landscapes, waterfalls, and its National Parks scenery. My question is, since I am arriving at tail end of travel season should I first try to hit the west coast from Christchurch? Or arrive in Queenstown to MS to Catlin, up to Mt. cook, to Christchurch to FJ NP via Arthur pass and end back in Queenstown via Hassat pass? Would appreciate your input.
    Thanks

Thanks for your question, which I often get! Generally it does not matter from which directly you'll start your trip from early April onwards. NZ weather condition can change rapidly, but April is usually a stable month with less rain and less wind (but who knows in these days :-) My suggestion though would be this: Chch (1-2 nights), Mt.Cook/Lake Tekapo (2), Dunedin (2), Fiordland (2-3), QT/Wanaka (2-3), Fox/Franz (2), Punakaiki (2) and then back to Chch or up to the Abel Tasman NP as the final top spot! Hope this helps with your planning. Cheers Michael

Hello Michael, I am planning to visit New Zealand in the spring for 10 days on the South Island. What would you suggest as the best itineraries? I prefer nature. Thanks.Kevin, Houston Texas

Hi Kevin, very much depends on your interests. Generally speaking I would recommend to stay as much as possible two nights, so you have a full day to explore. Later this week we'll release another 'How to plan' video, which you might be keen to check out. Plus a 'easy use' planning sheet. Here is a sample 10 day itinerary for the South Island to get you started, travelling with a rental car. Hope that helps. Great work! How is the cellular coverage along these routes?

The coverage is mostly pretty good actually. It might be patchy over some of the passes.
