Being older than all of you, I suggest:
    1. Don't waste time. Once gone, you can't make it back. Do it now.
    2. Take care of your health. Quality of life is more important than longevity for its own sake.
    3. Keep learning and challenging yourself. You're never too old to learn something new or see things differently.
    4. Have fun. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever. Right, Gavin?
    5. Enjoy the journey because we all have the same destination.

If I've learnt anything during this pandemic it's that.

To quote a great man - "Man sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived"

In my 73 years I learned:
    Be kind to others
    Pay it forward
Never stop learning and helping others
Have fun at what you do
Set and meet a goal every day
And as someone else said "enjoy the joyrney" as it is the only one you'll have.
Really enjoyed meeting all of you at Cape D as I have been following the F4 group as individuals before they got together.
Enjoyed meeting and talking with you Greg, I was the one to the right of your tripod with the big 400mm f4 lens.
I see you are at Valley of Fire, love that place. Glad I just found your channel to follow your adventures.

Be your own person, Be kind, Do what you say you're going to do, Seek the interest of others, not just yourself, take today for what it is and make the most of it. Great content. Totally enjoying all the F4 content & coursework. So many laughs, but still a great value. Great job all of ya.

I think this is a GENIOUS video idea Greg, loved it!! 😊 So how not to suck... be different, don't be selfish, live in the moment, be passionate and...play disc golf, right? My advice is to be open to change, travel, get out there and keep an open mind. Learn about other cultures, languages - no matter how strange they may seem to you - and you'll end up learning a lot about yourself. Exited to see you soon guapo 😘

This is such a great video! One tip I have to not suck at life is that you should always be yourself and do what makes you happy. When you do both of those things, the best of you will always come out. It is very simplistic but just as important as all the other tips mentioned.

I think it’s important to follow your passion in life.
I always ask new people I meet what there passion is rather than what there job is.
I also try to do one random act of kindness every day because you never know what sort of day someone is having, or what they are going through and that one little thing you do to help them might be just what they needed to remind them that someone dose care about them

    How not to suck:

Id saying, finding gratitude/enjoying the small things in life. Think about it, here today/gone tomorrow. Everyday you wake is a day you can't complain. And try to make 1 random person smile each day, you never know who has it rough in life and the peace it can bring to there day.

In South Africa, we have a saying, "don't be a poes, be lekker...". Loosley translated, don't be a dick, be a nice person (excuse the profanity). Being approachable, humble and nice will open the door to like-minded people who are willing to impart their knowledge and experience onto those willing and open to receive it. You will grow leaps and bounds and people will sit up and notice you. Being the opposite and full of yourself, thinking you know everything and it's all about you will see those doors slammed loudly in your face and backs turn when you walk into the room.

The words F4 made me watch your vlog and im glad, I did subscribed and 👍. As for top tips I agree with all. I hit 40 last year and I have been a general photographer for meany years and as a job its not bad. But I was not photographing what I was passionate about, now I mack time and that part of my Photography is very much a hobby but I am happy. I also found photos I did when I was 12 and they are terrible but it is very obvious I have wanted to be an outdoor photographer for almost 30 years. Don't tack as long as me to figure it out😳

I’ve had a few ups and downs in life, a few near misses and A few conditions which are life altering. I have been the workaholic I’ve been the yes man and I’m still the nice guy sucker that will get used. In these times I’ve thought of a few mottos
    1. The sooner you realise we’re dying the quicker you will start to live. (May sound morbid, but it’s the reality)
    2. With knowledge comes understanding with understanding comes acceptance with acceptance comes peace for us all.
I’m still underway to making my first TH-cam video from your last video, thanks for the information and insight from the others. Still working on what to say hahaha

I think Gavin is parking bicycles in the background. Best advice not mentioned yet, no matter what you do, be the best you can be at it. That being said, regardless of location, be it on stage in front of a large crowd, or in a more intimate, small gathering...never think you know more than, or are better than everyone else there. Be humble, everyday is a school day.

I agree, you're in charge of your life. For the most part this is true. If you want to do something, you need to start doing it. It might not all go according to plan but at least you'll be ready to capitalize when opportunities arise. You can't do this if you're sitting on the couch or the computer chair all the time wishing that you had something going on.

For me "how not to suck" in life is just have fun. Enjoy everything you can, laugh lots. There'll be enough BS along the way to cause stress and worry.
For photography? Much of the same. It's something you should enjoy, if you don't you're putting too much pressure on yourself. Not saying there won't be stress and pressure, there will be, but find ways to make things fun.

One tip I try to live by is a quote from Einstein. ' A wise man learns from experience..a wiser person learns from the experiences of others.'

And you told us that you weren't funny 😅 I honestly don't know how not to suck at life as I just ended the suck chapter of my life by quitting my 9-5 job. Empathy and kindness I guess, that'll get you far in life.

My top tip is; Don't be Selfish. Givers gain, in the end. The arc may be long but it is inexorable.

Actually I'm not a believer in that, but I'm going to give it a shot. I'll probably be wrong. I like the tip that it may be long.

I see a lot of people below saying "read more". Guess I'll have to try that.

    Biodiversity is life quality
So be tolerant and don't judge other people without intimate knowledgement. Don't always talk and think about the other, think and talk about yourself and go in relationship to your environment, because you need this relation to find and get yourself.
    Me gets me by you!

Great vid. Tip one you have to shave the moustache Greg. ( sorry ). It great to get the different personality into one video, I always get a giggle. Tip for the bigger channel if they say leave like and comment at least give a tump up to acknowledge. Even if they have their granny sitting at the computer pressing 👍. I do understand they are busy but then say leave a comment and I too busy to get back. 😜😜
