I do that, too. It's just me and hubby, so pretty easy. I realized that TH-camrs need to let the cleaning go, a bit, so they have content. We'd have nothing to watch if they cleaned as they went. ❤😊

I love my dishwasher. I feel it is more sanitary than handwashing dishes.
i clean as i go too it’s way aside and at 55 years old i can’t stand having dishes in the sink overnight . no way 😂

Why don’t you use your vacuum on the tile floor rather than a broom and dustpan.
I do, I use a broom first because to me it picks up more and I have a lot of dog hair that clogs the vacuum so I sweep then vacuum.

Have you ever considered a portable dishwasher on wheels that hooks up to your kitchen sink faucet? Alot have really nice tops in wood grain etc and my mom used one for many years and I swear it cleaned better than any built in dishwasher I've ever owned and not too awful expensive either, she doubled hers as more counter space..worked great. 😊
My mom uses one of those too, and it works fantastic.
I have considered it when I wash the dishes haha something to think about for sure!!

I can't do dishes at night either. My routine is to do the dishes and wipe down the counters in the morning while my coffee is brewing.

I cannot go to bed until the dishes are done and the kitchen is clean! I cannot face that in the morning. Start a fresh day without the leftovers from the day before. It’s the way I was raised and it’s never left me (I am 65)

Same, i try to do them as soon as I finish cooking. I can only handle like few small things like a glass or whatever one uses before bed but exceptions do happen especially with a small child. I do not own a dishwasher, my choice. Couldn’t care less, I don’t like it. I’d much rather do it quick myself

Get a portable dishwasher with a butcher block top and park it next to your oven when not in use. We had one when our kids were young since no room for build in. You roll to sink when using and then back where you have room when not in use.

Hi Ann, enjoying your channel. Your home is coming together beautifully. Here's my tip for you. I fill a container with hot soapy water and I wash my dishes as I go along while cooking. It's so satisfying when dinner is done and I don't have ALL the dishes to do. Only what we ate on. Also it saves water. I don't run the water the whole time as I wash. I wish you all the best on your new chapter in your story....
I am the opposite of you, I hate having a dishwasher. My kitchen never seemed clean when we had one, there was always so much stuff that couldn't go in there or wasn't clean when they came out. My kids were young enough when we had it , that they could load and unload it, but they weren't quite old enough to grasp what did or didn't go in there. My husband wouldn't bother wiping down the counters or the stove after loading it. The best dishwashing tip that I learned from a "new mother" book is this: First scrape and rinse all food off, then fill your sink with extremely hot soapy water, sit your dishes in it, go do other things for an hour or more. When the water is finally cool enough to touch, you shouldn't have to do much more than rinse them. It works like a charm. If I'm doing heavy-duty cooking, my first step is to fill up my sink with soapy water and do them as I go.

I kill for the day I get one, I won't know how to act.😂 I'm not going to lie, I soak my dishes after I eat & wash them in the morning while my coffee is brewing. I have a dishwasher which I use for storage 😂 I have always washed my dishes by hand. I learned a long time ago how to wash in intervals when hosting dinners. I hope you and the girls sang " I Will Survive " by Gloria Gaynor it would've been so appropriate 😂. You will do great and it will take time. I went thru it 29 years ago and have remarried. I always said the first marriage was a test run.😅
