    Despite how terrible the game is at the most basic things, the battles and the world are amazing. You're 100% right, this is a skeleton. More like playing DND alone.

    I was so hyped for this game, about 6 years ago. It is quite disappointing the game is in such a poor state after so many years. They just had remake warband to look good and expand its mechanics.
    By all looks, they have failed and continued to fail.

      i waited for this game for so long and i was also dissapointed, bought it at steam full price on release. there was a lot of content missing . 200000000 bugs and really not much to do. i was in love with MB vikings conquest and i still am today. bannerlord sucks donkey ass compared to the first game

    I am guessing there will never be a mount and blade 3. This one ruined the magic that the first game gave us. I love the battles but literally everything else sucks. Even the character creator everything you make looks like a Turkish used cars salesman. No desire to own a kingdom or manage a castle it's so boring.

    What made me give up on this game, is that I first install the best mod (which is a long process of testing and ironing out incompatibility issues)
    Then after everything works to perfection.. the actual devs release a goddamn update which includes a must-have feature.
    So naturally now I have to uninstall all my mods, and wait for the modders to update their mods... Long story short, this is a repetitive cycle which breaks my desire to invest time into the game.

  • @alexander_al
    @alexander_al ปีที่แล้ว +15

    That is exactly what I was thinking of yesterday. The game is a skeleton for modders, a foundation.
    I am in the late endgame of my first playthrough now and game feels really shallow and empty. Really nothing to do except constant repetitive sieges and battles.
    It's such a disappointment, because the game is actually awesome, there's so much more possible to implement! I like battle system, location design, but it all feels shallow, unfortunately.
    The game is yet to be released actually. The release was fake I think.

Played for a bit but needed to watch a lot of tutorials to grasp what I needed to do. Eventually stopped playing as other games took my interest. But recently got interested again amd started watching videos and was curious if they made big changes since release. Sadly my brother and I are console players so no mods for us.

  • @matthewbrady327
    @matthewbrady327 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    It’s a really good game but like you said it’s missing some important elements. Diplomacy definitely needs a ton of work.
    1. If you ton of casualties and more take fiefs than your enemy then it means that they should pay tribute right? Wrong. It goes by raiding. I suppose it makes little sense but not when compared to taking territory and inflicting casualties. How about having more prisoners than your enemy? Little impact.
    Even if you do raid a village, some companions would dislike you which is very counterintuitive to what TaleWorlds encourage you to do.
    At the end of it all, you may are forced to pay tribute to a faction that you beat senselessly.
    2. Kingdoms declaring war on you constantly. I play as the Southern empire so I am spread a little thin having to focus on multiple fronts. The Khuzaits are a pain in the ass and I do a ton of work taking fiefs away from them as a vassal and then when we get them by the tail, my kingdom asks for peace, we pay tribute, then move on. Annoying part is you can’t finish them off as you have the upper hand in the war but whatever.
    Then the Vlandians want to declare war. Cool, same process as last time, fight them, take fiefs. Only thing is the damn Khuzaits and Sturgia want to declare war on my kingdom as we are fighting the Vlandians and some of the territory that I conquered for the Southern Empire are gone within a game week. It’s a constant grind and frustrating process.
    3. I don’t understand the thought process behind the vassals sometimes. They want to declare war on a faction twice our strength while we are at war with a evenly matched faction. Reason? “We pay too much tribute?” Logical enough if we were at peace and not at war with another kingdom. But to add salt to the wound, they typically do it to another kingdom that is far away from the front lines of the war.
    4. You had enough of the damn enemy faction leaders harassing you once you capture them in battle. You ransom them or let them go, they come back again to have another round with you. When they see you, “(player name), it’s been a while.”
    I think to myself, “do you want another asskicking?” Anyway after like five or six times, I get tired of their nonsense, so they meet my axe. Logical right? You let them live but you want to execute the enemy lords bc they try your patience. Well, not only do piss off the enemy faction, you piss off your faction vassals. Do you not see that I spared them time and time again?
    5. Finally, once you take all the fiefs away from a faction, the faction should disappear and join another kingdom right? Nope. Guerrilla warfare. They don’t go away until you kill them, plain and simple.

      @@TheOnlySillySocks I've played enough of the previous titles as a teenager and Bannerlord since it's release in 2020 to say it's still in alpha in my opinion. Campaign AI is awful most times braindead and you cannot snowball from defeating large armies with a campaign on the enemy lasting a couple of days with leaders leaving one by one to get attacked separately oh and spears generally being useless on foot is quite annoying. Maybe I'm too long in the tooth to enjoy it as a fresh experience.

    • @TheOnlySillySocks
      @TheOnlySillySocks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i get your point but our opinions dont matter. the studio fully released it officially. the fact it feels like its still in development dosent matter. if anything it stains the reputation of the studio that does it. every player may have different perspective, some might even say its perfect and they love the finished product. the fact is it was released, wrongly imo, and therefore i can judged it on the fact they released it. do i think the game is finished, f no. but it dosent matter.
