I’m going to try this but do it backwards. I’ll put the resin in and the dragonfly face down. If it floats it’ll be okay because it will then be in the “middle” of the resin, then I’ll put the second layer of resin. I love the lessons too!! 💕
My grandpa got into an auto accident at the beginning of this month and sadly passed away on the 20th. My whole family started having dragonflies appear. I cut down sunflowers from the road where he had his accident and am putting them into epoxy for the family. I had the thought it would be so cool to put a dragonfly into one but didn’t have any and or money to buy a dragonfly. On my way to finish some of my projects I had a similar situation where I hit a dragonfly with my car. When I got to my grandpas shop to work on my epoxy projects that dragonfly fell off my car and was in perfect condition still!! I was wondering if you have noticed a difference in the color of the dragonfly you put in the resin? Do you have any advice before I put mine into resin?
I soaked my dragon fly in acetone for 10 hours. It preserved the blue color in the dragonfly. I have had it sitting in a cabinet, drying out for a month or so. Ill be putting it in risen soon.

You should have done it in 2 layers the first layer can hold on to the second layer with will not let the dragonfly float
What is the dragonfly is placed upsidedown with the print on top. Would that hold down the dragonfly a little better
Okay but before you put it in resin, do you have to do something to preserve the dragonfly?

Should’ve glued the dragon fly to the white piece to weight it down. After the glue dries, then place it in the resin the same way you did it.
You should have taken a bigger cup to mix to avoid spilling
nice bro! what do you think would stop it from rising? Letting that bottom layer fully cure?
I wonder if the resin is sticky ?
