Maybe it was kept in a warm place and turned? I don't know but I can't offer any advice without smelling it. Sorry about that. Take it back to the store you bought it from or if you bought it elsewhere take it to a store nearby that sells it to compare it.
For me, ten 10/10's are Prada L'Homme, Dior Ambre Nuit, Chanel Pour Monsieur & Egoiste, Dunhill Icon, Tom Ford Tobacco Oud, Maison Martin Margiela Jazz Club, Terre d'Hermes Eau Givree, Guerlain Habit Rouge & Heritage.
Chanel égoïste is stunning and Guerlain habit rouge and heritage are great. I also like l’instant de Guerlain. Have you tried habit rouge rouge privé ? It is a real banger. I have to get my nose on Dunhill Icon.
Absolutely wonderful list, I have most of these, they’re all amazing, I smiled when you said it was a toss between black tie and don Paris from Celine! coz they’re also my fav from Celine and I feel the same. But from Bvlgari, with no toss I would definitely choose my recent gem discovery.. Falkar! what a class beast fragrance! Unmatched beauty.
Some of my highest-ranking designer fragrances are: "Lalique Pour Homme EDP", "Costume National Homme Parfum", Mandarina Duck "Black Extreme", Mauboussin "Une Histoire D'Homme Irresistible", Dior "Sauvage Parfum", Dior "Fahrenheit Le Parfum", "Dior Homme Intense", Prada "Luna Rossa Carbon", "JPG Le Male Le Parfum", Cartier "Pasha de Cartier Parfum", Guy Laroche "Drakkar Noir" (i.e. how it used to be like), Giorgio Armani "Acqua di Gio Profumo", Prada "Luna Rossa Black", some from Issey Miyake, and more.
Great List! I can very well relate to this list, as it contains some of my favorites. But ideally/ personally I would replace some of these scents with 1. Guerlain - Habit Rouge EDP/Mandarine Basilic (for Givenchy Noctambule) 2. Chanel - Sycomore EDP (for Coromondel) 3. Valentino - Uomo Intense (for Loewe 001) 4. Tom Ford - Tuscan Leather (for Zara Leather Jardin) 5. Armani - Magenta Tanzanite (For Bentley Men Intense) 6. YSL - La Nuit De L homme (for Cartier Oud Radieux) 7. Lancome - Figues and Argumes (for Comme Des Garcons Marseille) Just felt that at least 1 Guerlain and Armani scent should be on the list, as both of them are giants of the designer scent world. Also, Feve Delicieuse being discontinued is really sad, as it is absolute banger.
I've been really getting into classic style fragrances lately so I'm intersted in that Zara Leather Jardin. That's an unbeatable price for good juice. Thanks for the recommendation.
My 10/10 designers: Tobacco Oud, Dior Homme Parfum, Eau Sauvage, Fahrenheit, Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey, Noveau Monde and Ombre Nomade, Polo Green OG, Cartier Declaration and Calvin among others, but those are the ones that I remember now. I love Babycat but doesn't last on my skin the same as Tuxedo 😬 Great List, still some that I haven't tried. Thank you Sebastian!!!
Will have to look for that Zara one. I thought it was going to be one of these two newer ones which at least in Germany are unfortunately very hard to find: - Zara Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes (in the top 100 in Parfumo right now, allegedly very similar to LV's Imagination, which happens to be the current #1) - Zara Sand Desert at Sunset (by the same perfumer and very similar to Angel's Share) Have you smelled these, Sebastian? Needless to say would be interested in your thoughts.
Your knowledge of fragrance is phenomenal, my go to scent for decades has been D&G pour homme, masculine, sensual and not too sweet. What fragrance takes this to the next level for a romantic date or passionate evening?
I say "near signature" because I don't ever really want to stick too religiously to just one scent, but boy oh boy this one feels like I could wear it every day for life.
My scent of the day yesterday was Vanilla Diorama (I don't know what I was thinking) and I was surprised it didn't make me puke to wear it outdoors (in a high heat). Still beautiful and very long-lasting.
An off-beat quirky layering combo: Hermes L'Ombre des Merveilles and CDG Rouge.... A weirdly strange yet "friendly" effect. Just smells like somebody you want to be around.
Simply from a woman's perspective, this list is missing Tom Ford Ombre Leather. Funny my husband didn't love it, but I bought a bottle for myself. It's a "bury your face in his chest" type of scent and just incredible. On me, I get sweet wine notes mixed with that delicious leather. Also love Pasha de Cartier Edition Noire Sport (red bottle) on him. That one is spicy but fresh and smells luxe-- I love it when he wears it. ETA: agree with another commenter, would love to see a women's version of this as well 😘
Would have like to see frags that have transformed the fragrance world and stand the test of time. Guerlain Shalimar, diorissima, Chanel No 5 (I don’t like it but appreciate it)….
I agree, Loewe has some gems, my favourites from the brand being 001 Woman, Pink Magnolia and Floral. My other 10/10 designer fragrances are Magnolia Rosae by Maison Lancome, Patchouli Impérial by Dior, Apogee by Louis Vuitton and Noir pour Femme by Tom Ford. I must give the Noir Extreme a try as I keep hearing it smells very similar to Noir pour Femme which is now discontinued.
Absolutely spot on. I echo tom fords TV & noir/extreme, the Cartiers too. I am looking forward to sampling Ombre Nomade. These are definitely attractive scents. I would add Dolce & Gabanna Pour Home the original it's an old fragrance but still worth a look
Just got the Loewe 001 Man, and its very good.. love the these carrot seeds for summer!! Thanks for the advice!! (Waiting for Zara to sell Leather Jardín, out of stock right now here in Mexico)
The Zara sounds good. Not really familiar with Costume National. Maybe a good idea for a video? I’m somewhat familiar with Commes des Garçons. I’ve only smelled 2 or 3 in the incense line. I really like Zagorsk.
Hey Sebastian, a really great list👍🏼 but in the intro you say that you only feature perfumes that are not continued but MMW is a limited release and nowhere to get or do you have an address where to get it? I’m looking for it since you featured it the first time but nowhere to get.😢
@@ThePerfumeGuy thanks for your answer. Now it is everywhere out of stock and Givenchy told me that they are not sure if it will come back because it’s a limited release.
I would replace Tom Ford Noir Extreme Parfum with Beau de Jour. And I would replace Hermès Equipage Geranium with the 1970 Equipage OG, but I would add Terre d'Hermes Parfum. Although Equipage Geranium is very good too. Although discontinued, my YSL pick would be Rive Gauche Pour Homme, which makes sense since I'm wearing the 10/10 discontinued Tiffany for Men from 1989. The Costume National I would choose is Homme.
Cartier Baiser Vole is my fave From the house. Gorgeous and classy ❤❤ Coromandel is amazing , it’s my unicorn fragrance , class and elegant bomb TF noir extreme parfum is 🤤 Great list❤
Sadly, DHP didn't work for me there's this animalic borderline bad breathe smell on me perhaps it's the oud or oud+leather cos I don't get that smell in the Intense version. I sold it 😩
Babycat isn’t good in my opinion with my body chemistry and our head perfumer who comes from Givaudan also dislikes it. My friend in the UK got me a large sample of it. I was very disappointed due to all the hype and I had to wash it off it was making me so nauseous. It smells like a stinky church incense that the Catholic priests have in their gold kettle walking down the aisle towards the altar. Also it gives off a gasoline or chemical smell to me. Not one person in our Fragrance division likes it and they all come from well known fragrance companies. I know it’s a divisive fragrance and many people love it. It’s definitely interesting 🤔 😂 Now I do LOVE Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille! I bought it based on your recommendation! It’s heavenly! ❤
coming from a fragrance "company" (they are usually called fragrance houses) doesnt make their thoughts on a fragrance any more important than others lol
If you choose mostly the higher end fragrances it kinda defeats the purpose of making a designer list. People like designer scents for the wearability and the price point. The fact that they also make clothes doesn't matter. If you talk about mostly €200 and up fragrances you might as well put them in the niche category.
@@ThePerfumeGuy then why differentiate at all? If niche and designer can smell like everything or can be priced at any price then what is the difference? That they also sell shirts? I don't care.
You can't say it lasts 2 minutes because you haven't tested the fragrance on someone else have you? You should say it only lasts 2 minutes on your own skin! ;)
The designers suck. Perhaps because for them, fragrance is a sideline schtick. i bought full bottles of Tom Ford's Venetian Bergamot and Chanel's Coromandel EDP, and found the performance of both to be woeful - long on the 'E' and painfully short on the 'P'. I'd very much like to pick up a bottle of Babycat, but samples only tell you so much, and after my Chanel and TF experiences, I'm reluctant to pull the trigger. The Designers are ripping people off. I would never buy Coromandel again. Especially with Xerjoff's Richwood being readily available.
Additionally where is Guerlain??? I would consider with the designers as not exactly Niche… to NOT have a Guerlain is blasphemy PERIOD. I’ll go look at your niche video

Completely agree with Tobacco Vanille and Babycat. They make my eyes roll back in my head.

Hi Sebastian, what do you think about Indompte from Givenchy? Nice video, greetings from Austria!
